Original owner was an elderly lady in TX. She sold low low miles car to army serviceman who was constantly deployed and garaged the car. He sold it to his friend another army serviceman who registered the car in MD and years later moved to NC. He also was deployed off and on and garaged the car. Car was 100% stock when bought it.I have done many functional upgrades and "sleeper" performance upgrades in the time I have owned and also garage kept the vehicle. I have put the most miles of any of the owners on the car when driving back and forth from Charlotte, Raleigh, and Richmond to Wilmington. This is a numbers matching car. For those of you who dig original parts, I have saved all the original parts taken off the car. I have documentation for the majority of the work and maintenance done as well. The story behind the 7 Up Mustang is one of the more bizarre bits of Mustang history, which is saying something given the wide range of characters who have been involved in the nameplate’s development over the years. Initially, only 30 7-Up Mustangs were meant to be produced — the namesake soft drink company had planned to give them away at the 1990 NCAA basketball finals. The pitch was simple: sink a ball from center court, and you could drive home one of the extremely limited-edition cars that night. For reasons unknown, the 7 Up contest was cancelled at the last minute. Although only two of the planned 30 cars had been produced, Ford decided to rebrand the cars, bump up production to 5,000 units and offer them as a special edition and unofficial commemoration the car’s 25th anniversary.7 Up Mustang SpecsThe 7 Up Mustangs were LX convertibles equipped with the famous Fox body era 5.0L V8 engine, delivering around 255 horsepower. All cars were painted with Ford’s distinctive Deep Emerald Green clear coat metallic paint and featured a white leather interior and a white convertible top. Front fascia, outside mirrors and body side moldings were painted to match the green exterior. Every 7 Up edition Mustang also got the GT’s 15-inch aluminum rims and a special-value package consisting of cruise control, A/C and a premium sound system with AM/FM radio and a cassette player.Sales FiguresRetail pricing for the special edition 7 Up Mustang started at $19,878. Of the 4,103 that ended up being manufactured, 2,743 were equipped with automatic transmission and 1,360 had a stick. I've spent between 8-10k on parts and labor not counting the original purchase price and my own labor. Never smoked in, always synth or synth blend motor oil, no drag/track time, prior owners were cruisers as am I, garage kept, all windows and door locks work, and again NO RUST. Been driving it the last few days and lovin' it. Dang good lookin' car! The Bad: Heat works, AC has a leak. Passenger seat leather 6.5 out of 10, just aged. Driver's seat upper is 7.5 out of 10; driver's bottom is new. Back seat leather is in great shape. $200 nonrefundable paypal deposit due after auction. Balance by Bank wire in 7 days of auction
