Vehicle Detail
1964 Chrysler Imperial Convertible with original 09496 Miles. This car was kept in the garage of the previous owner who owned it for over 28 years. Due to illness family of the original owner sold the car to his attorney who in turn sold the car to me with the original 09268 miles. I drove this car for less than 200 miles due to the fact that I have several other classic and vintage cars that I drive. This car has been sitting in the garage since 2008. I tried starting it but the starter was bad and after installing a new started (over two weeks ago), and after pouring in a few drops of gasoline with new battery, it started right off. I did not let it run due to 10 years old gasoline in the tank. It has the same old classic "Double Eagle" white wall tires which I believe would require changing. Although tire are holding air fine but due to old age I certainly would put new tires before driving it around. Buyer must know the facts that the car has old gas and would require draining the old gas and change of all the oils. Convertible top is brittle but I have bought a brand new top that will go with the car but would require having it installed. All the seats, carpet, door panels are all in good condition ( as shown in the pictures) and do not require any repair except good detailing. Paint is respectable but I would certainly paint it due to old paint that has signs of chipping due to dryness. Couple of pictures are from the time when I bought the car before parking it in the warehouse. All interior picture are taken yesterday. There are no dings or any body damage except at the rear quarter panel on the driver's side that would need small dent fixed and painted. There's no rust on the car at all as it is an original California car. Couple of small (1/4 inch) spots are oxidized due to chipped paint but does not have any evidence of rust) Trunk needs to be carpeted but has the original factory coating on it. Round rubber drain plugs in the trunk are missing and needs to be installed. Engine is in excellent condition but also needs to be cleaned and detailed. It drove perfectly before it was parked 10 years ago. I will try and have my gardner drain the gas tank and after putting new gas I'll try and drive it to know how well it drives overall. If I succeed in doing so, I'll update the operational details. Some of websites I'm listing below would give a general idea of how much 1964 Imperial convertible are selling for. This is just an educated guess for the buyer to determine the actual market value of this car. I am selling without any RESERVE. Highest bidder will win this auction. As usual, I must declare that this car is being sold on AS IS and WHERE IS basis without any expressed or implied warranty of any kind. Seller is not a mechanic and cannot give accurate descriptions of this car's electro mechanical condition except to describe what the seller is aware of. I would strongly suggest that the buyers must inspect this car for full evaluations. If you cannot come and inspect the car, I am willing to have it taken to any local Chrysler independent mechanics in my area who can conduct a detailed evaluation on behalf of the buyer. Internet Links to see how much this car is going for along with a market price as a guide. I am not expecting anything like the prices that are being asked. Due to such low miles and excellent overall condition, I am still not expecting anything close to what other similar cars are being listed for: 0 false 18 pt 18 pt 0 0 false false false https://classiccars.com/listings/view/723078/1964-chrysler-imperial-for-sale-in-dayton-ohio-45439 $42, 000 https://classiccars.com/listings/view/1086339/1964-chrysler-imperial-for-sale-in-lakeland-florida-33810 $37K https://classiccars.com/listings/view/914175/1964-chrysler-imperial-for-sale-in-christiansburg-virginia-24073 $21,790 http://www.nadaguides.com/Classic-Cars/1964/Chrysler/Imperial-Crown/2-Door-Convertible/ValuesPlease ask any questions that may be of concern to you before bidding. All sales are final with a required deposit of non-refundable $500 within 24 hours after the closing of the auction. Remaining purchase balance must be paid for making payment arrangements between the buyer and the seller. Remaining payment minus $500 deposit, must be made within 3 days after the end of the auction. If the buyer prefers to pay the entire amount of the purchase price through Paypal, that is fine with me, as long as the Buyer also pays the fees that Paypal charges. It is my request and I highly recommend that the buyer should inspect the car or have it inspected by a local service shops or the Chrysler dealer. I think such inspection costs between $75 to $150 which you can negotiate with such service shop directly directly. This is to avoid any misunderstanding at a risk of being accused of misrepresentations in the above descriptions.Good luck with your biddings! I have added few more pictures that I took today. It shows the car's rear quarter panel of driver's side showing where a minor dent is with paint chipped out. Rest of the new pictures are taken few minutes ago. Top wasn't going up all the way, but after adding hydraulic fluid to the top motor it works great. Top needs to be replaced and I have included a brand new unopened top for the car that will need installing. A local auto upholstery shop quoted $400 to install it.
