Vehicle Detail
Here is the deal with this car. I wanted something fancy so I bought this used Landrover last fall from a dealership outside of Louisville that specialized in these. I bought it sight unseen and had it delivered. I had problems from the beginning and eventually determined that the previous owner had overheated the motor and warped the heads. I am a mechanic by trade so I tied into it. I got the truck all put back together and drove it about a mile, I must have done something wrong because it locked up. Here is what I know: it is not hydro locked by fuel, I pulled the intake and can find no evidence of a bent valve, it is not the starter jammed up. I didn't go any deeper than pulling the intake, so it could be a jumped timing chain or a fuel pump drive chain. Bottom line, I sank most of my free time last winter into fixing this and I don't have time during the spring and summer for a project this size. I am sick of looking at it and don't want to put another dime in it. I am taking a huge kick in the financial sack selling it, but after this fiasco I have no interest in owning a Landrover anymore. The interior is in great shape everything else works, the only other problem it has is the park brake won't release. I engaged it when I started working on the motor and it won't release now. It may unlock if the truck was running but I don't know that for sure. This is the fancier of the trim options, it has the cooler in the armrest between the seats, touch screen controls, and comes with a factory floor mat that goes in the back compartment when the 3rd row is folded down. The title is clear and in hand. This would be a great opportunity if you had an LR4 with a good motor and a salvage title, or a wrecked one that had a good motor.
