Spring has finally sprung and summer is on the way! Why not take this opportunity to treat yourself to this super clean low mileage Mustang LX 5.0 convertible? You are looking at a documented 2 owner 39,000 mile 1992 Ford Mustang LX 5.0 convertible in amazing condition. The first owner, an adult gentleman, purchased this car new on 3/29/03. He traded it in to the same dealer on 7/15/09 after logging just 37,802 carefully driven summer only miles . My Father-in-law who was 78 years “young” at the time spotted it on the dealer’s lot and had a “mid life crisis’ moment! Being a life-long convertible enthusiast this bright red beauty became his new “Pride and Joy”. From that day until now Dad has only added 1130 miles, mostly to and from a local cruise night. The rest of the time it was kept covered in his garage. Current mileage is 38,986. Dad is now 87 and has decided it is time to let someone else enjoy this classic Mustang. A detailed Carfax comes with the car. You will not find one nicer. I am an avid, lifetime classic car collector/enthusiast, and have admired it since the day he acquired it. I am working on retirement or it would be added to my collection. This Mustang has NEVER seen any foul weather. Always a Non-Smoker. The undercarriage is crisp and clean. The body is straight . The Bright Red paint glows as new. No body or paint work ever. No stone chips on nose. One very slight scratch on rear bumper cover brush touched. Windshield, and all glass crisp and clear. White leather interior is immaculate. Very light wear on driver’s seat. Door panels, dash, console and carpets are perfect. Back seat looks as if it was never used. NO interior odors. The white convertible top functions flawlessly. The top itself is in great condition, with very minor cracking on bead surrounding rear glass. Very typical on this era Mustang due to folding.(see pics.) The overall integrity and appearance of the top is excellent. Soft and supple, Bright White! White top boot is like new and fits like a glove! Also has storage sleeve for boot. The trunk is immaculate. Spare tire and jack in place. Factory alloy wheels are PERFECT! No curb rash or weathering. Rides on nearly new 225/55/16 Uniroyal Tiger Paw touring tires. Equipped as follows: 5.0 liter H.O. (302 cu.in.) EFI V-8 runs “as new”. BONE STOCK !!!! 4 speed overdrive automatic transmission * see note below Posi-traction rear axle. 3.07 gear ratio Air Conditioning functions, but not cold. Needs charge? Why bother, just drop the top! Power windows, door locks, side view mirrors, trunk release. Power lumbar , reclining seats. Cruise control, Delay wipers AM/FM/ cassette Stereo works as it should All gauges ,lights accessories work as they should Rides and drives like new. Brakes are smooth and positive. E-brake works as it should. * Last summer an inconsistency in the shifting of the transmission was noticed. I recommended Dad to a reputable transmission shop. Was told it had an internal issue and would have to come out. Rather than trying a “piece meal” repair, the transmission was completely rebuilt at a cost of $1500.00 on 8/7/17 at 38,824 miles. See photo of receipt. A new radiator, thermostat and coolant were also installed. Engine oil and filter was just changed prior to this listing. THIS CAR NEEDS NOTHING. I would comfortably drive it cross country. To sum up, I do not believe that you could find a nicer, unmolested example of this iconic American car. Even though this car does not belong to me, I know it as if it were my own. Clear title will be surrendered to lucky new owner upon receipt of full payment.
