Relisting this item because of SCAMMERS!.... The Silver Tag bike was the pre-production CT70 with several things different than the production run. The VIN number tells you when it was built and is stamped on the lower left side of the frame on all CT’s. The US version was released on June 26th 1969 (CT70-1000001) this bike is in the 2100’s (CT70-102164). During the initial two month period they produced around 16,000 or so CT’s that had the “Silver Tag”. In September they went to a black VIN tag that included the VIN and Month/Year of manufacturing. Honda made changes to many features over a few short months. The silver tag bikes were truly prototypes. Our 1969 Honda CT 70 Silver Tag is original, runs & rides. Previous owner did a cosmetic restoration, repainted front forks & wheels, but the body of the bike is all original paint, but has had paint touch behind the seat, tires are worn & show cracks but still hold air. Rear taillight has crack in lens, some splits in the original seat as shown in pics, this little bike is a survivor bike, usual wear, looks good but no show queen. 3 speed automatic, 5245.8 miles on speedo, # on engine case CT70E-101804. Headlight & taillight work while engine runs, but battery needs replacing, but bike starts & runs no problem. Carb leaks at times but I will include a new Honda carburetor kit.
