Vehicle Detail

Even though this is a fantastic car, and apparently many people are very anxious to purchase it, please ask all questions before purchase. eBay charges $127 once there is a price agreement. I want potential buyers to know everything they want to know about this car BEFORE a price is agreed upon. I added a few more details in the description to help people know this car even better. I've included everything I can think of that is worth mentioning and added more photos.I didn't realize people are ready to send or transfer the full agreed upon price for the car and have it shipped without having anyone look at it beforehand. Perhaps there are some who are not concerned with an inspection before they purchase a car like this and have it shipped, but even if you don't plan to have someone look at it before it ships, please ask any questions that you can think of before we agree on a price. If you plan to have someone look at it when it is picked up, again, please ask any questions before we agree on a price. The appearance and everything about the car is as I describe, to the best of my knowledge, but of course it is being sold as-is.This car is in very good condition (my opinion). Photos show condition quite well. It runs well and is fast and very responsive.Features:Air conditioner, cruise control, power windows, electric sunroof, nice leather seats, stereo with CD player.Notable problems:1. Airflow deflector on sunroof needs a piece replaced (see photo looking in from top) we have the missing piece but the little connector piece on the end is broken. Sunroof works fine without though. 2. Passenger electric window doesn't always want to roll up or down. 3. Wife bumped center of front bumper (see photo). 4. The high beam to low beam switch needs to be adjusted or the switch replaced. It sometimes doesn't want to stay on low beam over a bumpy road. Until I fix it, I just manually touch the lever if the road gets bumpy so it doesn't switch to high beam. 5. I never use A/C, so not sure if A/C is working, but a new extra re-manufactured A/C compressor is included with sale along with many other parts. 6. It runs very well, but if it sits for a month or so, it does smoke a little when it is first started. Seems okay after about 10 minutes. If driven regularly, there doesn't seem to be a problem. 7. After a year or so, there are some drips of oil accumulated under the car where it is parked in our garage. Not sure how to describe the amount, but perhaps a tablespoon or less worth dripped during that time. 8. Door lock mechanism is stiff. I never lock the doors, but if someone else does lock it, it is hard to get the lock pulled back up 9. I went to the garage at night and checked over the car one last time to find imperfections. In the light of a flashlight, I found imperfections in the paint on the passenger door. I looked all over the car, and everything else has the appearance of nice, original paint. However, upon close inspection, that passenger door looks as though there must have been a repair made to the center section of the door. The paint in the center section appears to have a slight texture to it when a beam of light is hitting it. It is barely noticeable in regular lighting or on an overcast day, and that is likely why I didn't notice it in the past. I didn't even notice it while I was outside taking photos in the sun, likely because it is so bright and white with the sun on it. I also usually approach the car and get in from the driver's side. My wife said that she hadn't ever noticed it, and she has had the car since 2005 or so. Now that I'm looking for it, I do notice it if the sun is reflecting on that section or a light is shining on that section. I included a photo that maximizes how the imperfection looks if a bright light is reflecting on it just right. As the other photos show, it isn't really noticeable when a light isn't reflecting on that section. This is how I would describe the apparent repair in the middle of the passenger door. A border around the door of between 1 to 4 inches wide is the paint like the rest of the car. It has no texture and is perfectly smooth. It appears as though the center section was repainted and then blended into that outside border. The color looks like a perfect match, but it just looks like a less than perfect paint job in the middle because the paint isn't perfectly smooth. The door shape looks perfect though. There are 3 tiny cracking chipped areas in that repaired area on the passenger door in one of the photos. It sort of looks like the clearcoat chipped in those three tiny spots. The one chip in the photo on the other side of the car looks like an ordinary tiny chip in the paint.10. Some of the rear taillight lens' have some small cracks near where the screws are, and some hairline cracks near the bottom edge. 11. One of the photos on the listing showed that there was some wear on the edge of the driver's seat backrest near where someone's hipbone would rub against it when getting out. I took another photo to show that better.12. I noticed that one of the rear bumper rubber extensions must have a small crack in it with a small piece of electrical tape covering it. 13. There is a small chip in the paint behind the driver's door. 14. Misc minor blemishes throughout the interior and exterior as can be expected from a well kept 1979 car.
