Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is my 1969 Pontiac GTO, ORIGINAL, MATCHING NUMBERS, unrestored. We've affectionately named her 'RED'. This is a real 242 GTO, built in Baltimore and documented by the Pontiac Historical Society. To my knowledge, I am the 4th owner, but was registered 5 times. (one guy bought it, sold it, then bought it back again) The car has 42000 original miles, has the factory correct Matador Red paint code with Parchment interior. The carpet is brand new and the rest of the interior is in very good condition. For an unrestored car, it doesn't get much better than this! The build-sheet lists about 17 options, some of which were new to this model year. Notice the cornering lights were an option for 69, but it became government mandated by 1970. This option is also listed on the PHS document. Some of the features include: Cornering Lights Wonder-Touch Steering Safe-T-Track Power Bucket Seat (Driver's) Rear defroster/defogger Power Antenna Factory Air Conditioning (Missing Compressor) Power Door Locks Power Front Disk brakes Cruise ControlJudge SpoilerAM/FM Radio with Cassette Player This car had the original 400 V8 bored .30 over, with a performance RV cam and Edelbrock valve covers and 650cfm Carburetor. The ignition was upgraded to MSD and includes a Rev-Limiter chip. The fuel lines, fuel pump, fuel filters, brake lines and brake pads were all replaced in 2015. At the same time I also had the fuel tank dismounted and steamed. The transmission is a TH400 with a Hurst His & Hers Shifter kit. There's no two ways about it, this car drives like a bat out of hell! It's incredibly poised at even 95+ MPH. The 15 inch American Racing Wheels were added by the previous owner in 2005. If you would prefer the original 14 inch set instead, I could arrange that for an additional $1000 on top of the purchase price. The current 15's are sitting on 215/60/15's on front, and 255/60/15's on the rear. The Good: The pictures you see are an accurate representation of what you'd get. The car drives comfortably and well. It needs nothing but an A/C Compressor. The interior, exterior and mechanicals are all in great shape. There is no evidence of body damage, patch panels, etc. You can easily drive this car cross-country with no worries. The exhaust is Flowmaster 40 series and sounds awesome! You'd be hard-pressed to find a car that gets as much attention as this one. The matching numbers drivetrain and low mileage make this car even more valuable and rare. The Bad: This car is 50 years old and unrestored. It's not perfect, but I'd give it an 8/10. As I mentioned before the last owner pulled the A/C compressor ($500), which was a dumb move. The floor pans are the originals and are in decent shape. I don't have recent pictures but they are solid. Please don't expect a brand new under-carriage! There is one small (pea-size?) bubble by the back window's lower right corner. This is very common in GTO's due to a design-flaw that traps water in the trim and pools it. Overall, both of these are easy fixes. Feel free to ask me any questions you have about the car and bid with confidence, but only if you are serious about buying. The vehicles is offered for sale as is, no warranties, implied or written, no returns. I have it listed locally and on other sites, therefore I reserve the right to end the auction at any time, should a reasonable offer is accepted. Please no advertisement/solicitation calls. Otherwise, good luck and happy bidding. You can reach me at 918-884-1037 up to 8PM Central.
