ON THE DODGE FORUMS, THIS TRUCK IS 'THE TRIFECTA'!!! ALSO KNOWN AS THE 'HOLY GRAIL' BECAUSE IT HAS THE INDESTRUCTIBLE 12 VALVE CUMMINS; THE QUAD CAB BODY; AND THE 'TRACTOR PULL' TRANSMISSION! Completely new front end (new Moog inner and outer tie rod ends, left and right; new Moog sway bar links; new Moog upper and lower ball joints, left and right; new Raytheon rotors; new Timken wheel bearing assemblies, left and right; new Dodge steering stabilizer; new Dodge steering box; new Dodge clutch, pressure plate, and pilot bearing; new brake pads; new dual batteries; and new Wrangler Duratrac tires (Some of the pics show the older tires but the truck has brand new Wrangler Duratracs). On top of all that, this vehicle is in the highest quality and condition. It literally looks like it rolled off the assembly line. No dents, scratches, or rust. And I mean NO RUST. I'm talking doors, body, cab corners, or frame. The frame still has factory stickers on it from the assembly line. That's right, the rare 12 valve Cummins that came from the factory with the new upgraded interior and quad cab rear opening doors that was originally to be made available for the 24 valve series that was not quite ready in early 1998. Some Dodge guys call these rare trucks the holy grail for 12 valve collectors, but I bought it for the P-Pump 12 valve power and indestructible reliability. BACKGROUND INFO: This truck was a hand picked platform due to the condition, maintenance records, and power plant . This rig was purchased from the original owner in 2015, all stock! I have all the original service receipts, "the size of a phone book", and the original window sticker from the truck when it sold new in 1998. He recorded and kept everything. Then it was up fitted with more power and one of the most robust standard shift transmissions to pull a 47' tri axle trailer. No expense was spared to set this rig up perfect for mechanical reliability, hard pulling power, and sharp looks for an overall awesome truck. Top dollar was paid for it in 2015 at $22K and $18K more was invested into it creating the pulling monster you see here. I am not in need of quick cash and really hate to see it go, so please don't insult me with a low-ball offer. This rig is absolutely turn key. This is a very fair price for this collector's item truck. I just have way too many trucks.... Based on side by side comparisons with other rigs.....this truck is king of the hill....so to speak, when loaded heavy. TRUCK DETAILS: MILES: Currently 180,397. Truck modifications from stock were done at 126000 in 2015. Since then, there has been 54,000 miles of trouble free hauling due to the finest parts all new, and hand picked for optimum performance to tow safely, efficiently, with maximum power to hold 75-80mph loaded on the longest and steepest grades the eastern coast could offer. This truck has never given me an ounce of trouble, and has continued to impress me for a 20 year old rig. ENGINE DETAILS: 650hp est, built and mechanically tuned for pulling, not racing -Bosch P7100 pump: hand built, slide rack modified for maximum fueling at all rpms, low end boost diaphragm set to start building boost sooner at lower rpms (1500 vs 1850), star wheel adjusted while towing 18k to control boost levels and keep EGT's as low as possible with maximum power in real world towing conditions, laser fly cut 191 performance delivery valves to ensure maximum fueling through a wide range of RPM, and no rev limiter modifications were ever performed to ensure maximum longevity, fuel pump timing advance from 13.5 degrees to 16.5 degrees was done to help reduce EGTs and maintain maximum power. -Bosch 400 hp marine 12 valve Cummins injectors -Banks Ram Air cold air intake system with lifetime filter -ATS Auroura 4000 non-wastegated turbo, capable of producing 70psi of boost, but with the current tuning it is set to max out at 53-55 psi due to a stock intercooler, and stock 3" intercooler line on the inlet side of the intercooler. -BD Diesel stainless steel exhaust manifold, machine ported to match head for flow and to minimize energy loss via cfm restriction to the hot side of the turbo (effects your drive pressure by keeping it more consistent, which is directly related to turbo performance, and helps to prevent compressor stalls on the cold side under heavy loading) -Pusher Twin Ram cold air intake elbow with twin 3.5" inlet ports to the head for maximum airflow. This is actually the largest available intake on the market. It is powder coated blue inside and out to smooth airflow, and has 4 NTP ports for injectable's if you wanted to install water meth ect. I only utilized the port for boost pressure, No injectable's were ever used and nor do I recommend using them in an engine with advanced timing. -Pusher Intake intercooler out pipe with boots 3.5", also powder coated blue inside and out. -Straight 5" stainless steel exhaust into 7" stainless steel duals turning out at 90 degree behind the rear tires -Loads of power, does not miss, and is so touchy from all the fine tuning and adjusting it can literally rock the truck side to side with just a tap of the throttle. -Service intervals have been at 3K with Shell Rotella T3 and Fram or Cummins Mopar filters -Fuel filter has been WIX at every 12K -Antifreeze does have the Napa anti-electrolysis fluid added to prevent block pitting "common on 12 and 24 valve engines, but seen over time". This engine had no sign of it, so it was preventative. -170 degree thermostat was installed to keep the engine running cool -Engine equip with the block heater but it always starts immediately without it, even at sub-zero temperatures. Killer dowel pin fixed. -2 new batteries TRANSMISSION DETAILS: Dodge 4 speed auto removed at 126K due to being a known weak link in these trucks. I chose the NV5600 over the other available transmissions "NV4500 and G56". The G56 has an aluminum housing , that is known to be weak, and can not handle high powered engines towing heavy in 5th or 6th gear without literally destroying the transmission. Both New Venture tranny's "NV" are extremely robust cast iron housings that can take towing heavy in the last gear with no problems. Even when coupled to a powerful engine. I chose the 6 speed over the 5 speed for closer shifts to keep from lugging the rig gear to gear. This rigs gears operate much like a big rig, meaning all gears are short and close. If you change gears at 1500-1600...low and efficient, you'll find yourself hitting 6th gear at 40mph. This truck has no issue getting any weight behind it moving, even if your starting on a grade. The short shifting makes for 2000-2200 rpm at 75-80mph. At highway speeds this rig really shines pulling because you can hit peak boost easy, cruising around 20-35.....depending on how heavy you are loaded. Really runs nice. This truck struggles to do 105, and will not be quick light to light, despite its power. That's just not what it was built for, and that's why I mention it. It is in no means slow! 3rd 4rth and 5th pull so hard it feels like your going to break the seat if you push on it, but like I said....for us it was a turn key heavy hauling rig. TRANSMISSION SPECS: -NV5600 six speed manual, Cast iron housing, twin side PTO plates "not in use and no PTO hooked up", Valair 400hp clutch with 20K on it. With the kind of power this truck has, a SouthBend dual disc clutch would allow the hardest pulling, but may eat driveshafts.....thus the chosen valair 400 hp single disc organic clutch I chose. TRUCK DETAILS TO NOTE: "all original and functional unless specified otherwise" -Laramie Limited -1000 dollars worth of monitoring via GlowShift gauges. 3 pillar, and 3 in a pod on the dash. Gauges monitor Fuel Pressure, EGT "exhaust gas temperature", Turbo Boost Pressure, Engine Oil Temperature, Transmission Oil Temperature, and Differential Oil Temperature. -Cummins Power grey smoke metallic shifter -Tan Leather seats, no rips or stains. Electric driver seat adjustments. Driver seat shows signs of wear but has no large cracks or cuts. They're original. -Factory wood grain on the doors and dash (plastic, but that's how it was done then) -Bose limited sound system with factory tweeters, and cd player (the volume is a little touchy though). -Tan Carpet, no stains or rips, and includes original floor mats in the front in great condition, rear seat are aftermarket tan rubber -Vanity mirror with lights on both sides and vanity lights can be dimmed or brightened on both sides -Front 60/40 bucket bench with folding center console (a spot on the console is cracking but replaceable), can seat 3 and rear folding bench solid can seat 3 for a total of 6. -Auto dimming capable "with button" rear-view mirror -Towing Mirrors "heated, with button on dash" (towing mirrors were an upgrade) -Rear opening windows with factory tint -Solid rear window -All windows are original with no chips or cracks -Cab marker lights -4 aftermarket LED backup lights on a toggle switch make backing up visibility in rain at midnight a breeze -Aftermarket headache rack all aluminum. -Lund visor "the good one with the longer feet to attach to the cab better, and wont crack, and have the cab light cutouts. This is matched painted with matching vinyl stripes installed. -In-bed Reese hitch mount, and 7 pin coupler on driver side also in bed. -On dash power inverter, works but is not hooked up right now. -Regular factory receiver hitch below bumper with both 7 and 4 pin hookup. -Custom vinyl work done to dress it up, this was not OEM Dodge -Wheels upgraded to aluminum 17" from 16" steel wheels. These all come with locking lugnuts and the key. Inner dually rims are new steel factory painted black for an 05 Cummins dually. Lug pattern matches. -Original Dodge bedliner -The truck does have a perfect condition tailgate, which can be removed to accommodate easy hookups to a fifth wheel hitch. -Comes with 2 keys with remote The only things to note damaged is the center console cover has cracks in the closing lid, but can be replaced very cheap......just never got around to it, and there is a few epoxy spots on the top of the dash where the old owner had a decal glued to the dash. Could be cleaned up with solvents, but I was going to get a carpet dash cover instead. About 100 bucks. Also just never got to it. Otherwise the truck is perfect as perfect can be.
