Vehicle Detail
1973 Honda CB500 Four Running, complete and original with 8.351 miles. Same owner since 1985 Previous owner was trying to build a chopper out of it so I had to save this little gem. Bike was garage kept and not used since 1985. I slowly brought it back to original condition using (few) original parts removed by previous owner and parts that I bought along the way. My goal was to use original parts to make it look as mother Honda made it. The engine run very strong (I couldn't load a video of the bike running but send me your phone number or email address and I'll send to you). It is sitting in my garage since a year now and I am starting a new project. This is what I have done to the bike: - New spark plugs - Original carbs were replaced with clean, original ones from a 1972 CB500 Four - Electrical system was a mess. Everything works now as it should except front turn signals (missing the ground) and back turn signals. - Cleaned the fuel tank with "evapo-rust". the original paint is overall great except little fading on top of the tank. - replaced the ugly chopper bars with its original ones. - replaced the super-ugly double headlights with the original one - electric start was broken. replaced the whole right switch. - throttle cables - ignition switch - forks boots - replace master cylinder and now both Brakes work (also flushed and oil replaced) - Clutch work (adjusted) - Gears works (tried first and second gear on side stand) - side covers are perfect. - exhaust is overall very solid except the upper right pipe which is rusted pretty bad. Since the other 3 pipes are great I planned to replace just the bad one but I didn't have luck so far to find one. - replaced the "chopper" seat with an original one that is in very nice condition with no holes or rips. It is missing the bracket pins. 2 keys and Clean Michigan title.Rust and chrome: the overall condition of the bike is very good. there is light rust and chrome condition is very good. It is a "museum" bike?!? no, it isn't. Bike is for sale locally so I may end this ad before its duration. Please feel free to contact me if you have any question. Please note: I tried to describe the motorcycle with honesty and at the best of my skills but please note that I am a motorcycle enthusiast and not a mechanic. Check my feedback and bid with confidence. Andrea.
