Vehicle Detail

0 false 18 pt 18 pt 0 0 false false false 1984 Rolls Royce Corniche Convertible (Drophead) coupe with only 75884 original miles (will have a few extra miles before sold as the car will be driven to the gas station). White' exterior paint (painted 5 years ago and since sat in the garage) with camel interior, original Connolly leather seats and with a full set of matching original Lamb's wool rugs, a matching soft top with leather tonneau cover. The car was originally purchased new from 'Beverly Hills Motor Cars' of California on 09/22/1984. It was, for many years, serviced by Beverly Hills Cars and later by Charles Agapou of Beverly Hills. In 2006 car was sold to a businessman in Maryland who kept the car for two years and then car was bought by a California buyer who is now selling the car because he has bought a 1996 Corniche S. The car was painted almost 5 years ago and since then it sat in the garage as the owner went to work as a contractor in Iraq for over 6 years. Car was rarely driven by the California owner due to his absence from USA. Before painting the car, entire chrome and other body parts were removed and kept with the car in its trunk where they are still kept with each and every piece intact. Car has been sitting in the garage since its painting was completed. It would require color sanding as all newly painted cars are required. Body shop that painted the car “London Bridge” went through some legal issues and could not install all the body parts. A local body shop quoted $1500 to put back all the parts properly but the owner decided not to mess with it. This car has a rebuilt transmission with less than 78 miles on it since its parked in the garage. The car has no history of any accidents as far as the owner knows. This car can be driven from Los Angeles to New York without any hesitations in the condition it sits today. After the owner bought this car he was going to restore it totally but his assignment to Iraq/Kuwait did not make it happen. After coming back from Iraq, the owner bought another Corniche, a 1996 Model S. This is the reason for the owner to sell this Corniche. Owner would consider getting the entire car’s body pieces installed and make sure everything is put back with perfection. But then the owner requires a sale price no less than $40,000. This is a NO RESERVE auction and the highest bidder can perhaps buy this car at half the price than the going market price. Mechanically this car does not need anything at all. Cosmetically, no bodywork is required. Paint is around 5 years old but since painting it sat in the garage. So as far as the paint is concerned, it is still new but would need color sanding. Car would need a good detail washing and waxing and it would be like new. There’s not a single screw missing from the parts that are taken out before painting. Owner has paid $4,713 to the MV on 04/24/2009 but did not complete the registration due to his contract work in Iraq/Kuwait.Tires were installed brand new which has less than 200 miles five years ago. Former mechanic from a local Rolls Royce Dealer with his own independent shop maintained this car and can be contacted to obtain any details about its service matters. Owner has bought a brand new convertible top that will go with the car but would require installation. Local upholstery shop has quoted $1000 for the top installation that includes a wood piece for the top. The car is being sold on AS IS and WHERE IS basis with no implied or expressed warranty or guarantees of any kind whatsoever due to the fact that it is a used car and this disclaimer is a standard disclaimer that is legally applicable to all used cars sold on eBay. Owner is willing to have the car driven to any Rolls Royce dealer within 25 miles radius from Thousand Oaks California, for full inspection, evaluations, road test and any other evaluations that the buyer may want, at his/her own expense. There are local independent Rolls Royce/Bentley service shops as well who can also undertake the full evaluation of the car. It should not cost more than $400 for such evaluation. Seller highly recommends that the buyers must inspect the car before bidding or have someone else inspect the car for detailed evaluations on buyer’s behalf. Seller is not a car expert and does not know much about technicalities of this cars. Therefore, any and all expressions of car’s condition stated herein, are to the best knowledge of the seller without any guarantees of accuracy of any kind whatsoever. It is a Rolls Royce and generally speaking, any Rolls Royce owners maintains these high end cars well and do not abuse them due to this car’s stature, looks, and definitely, performance. It is not a Ferrari or a Lamborghini that a car like this would be abused for road races etc.! If the buyer wishes the car to be completely ready and would not need any parts installations, a local body shop can do the job. But then, the owner will not sell this car for less than $40,000. We highly encourage and advise the bidders/buyers to undertake a detailed evaluation of this car as it is advisable to do so for buying any used car, as a general rule. A nonrefundable deposit of $500 will be required within 24 hours of the end of the auction payable preferably though PayPal. If the buyer does not have a PayPal account, a bank to bank wire transfer within 24 hours will be required. Remaining balance must be paid within 3 days after the end of the auction via bank to bank wire transfer. Buyer is responsible for the transportation of the car from Thousand Oaks, California. Car will be sold to the buyers worldwide. Car will come with the original title of ownership and a bill of sale. Please feel free to ask any questions regarding this car before bidding. All sales are final and non-returnable, non-refundable. Buyer is buying the car at his/her own risk without any responsibilities by the seller as it is a used car despite its good condition. Good luck with your biddings! On Jan-24-18 at 08:15:46 PST, seller added the following information: Radio was removed at the time of painting and removing the wood for restoration. There's no radio and the center console that retains the radio also need to be installed properly. To answer questions from European buyer, yes the car will be sold to anyone in any part of the world and bank to bank wire transfer from Germany and Denmark would also be acceptable. You must arrange all the international transportation issues at your own expense. I'm taking the picture of the title and relate documents and will post it sometime today. I noticed when I started the car that it has developed a muffler leak and sounds loud but I have not looked into it any further so please assume that it may need some muffler work. After removing the radio, all radio wiring would require to be put back on as the wiring can be seen loose under the unfastened center console. Yes, I will be willing to take the car to the local Rolls Royce dealer or your selected shop for full inspection and road test! There are no other additional parts that will come with the car except all those parts that were removed at the time of painting and wood work and there's not a single part missing from the car. I bought a set of brand new backup lights that I did not yet have them installed but can't seem to find where I kept them few years ago. If I find these backup larger (upgrade) lights, they would come with the car but not 100% guaranteed to find them on time. Chrome is in excellent condition without any issues. Just need good detailing after the color sanding is done!On Jan-24-18 at 08:41:40 PST, seller added the following information: A bidder just left after inspecting the car and we discovered that the two latches that tie the convertible top are missing but rest of the parts are all there according to the car dealer who just left after full detailed inspection and an offer. I'm sure they are here but will find them. If not, I'll pay for them and could be purchased from Los Angeles based Rolls Royce/Bentley used car outfit known as Tony Handler. But I'm certain it may be in the garage where car sat for over 5 years. On Jan-24-18 at 10:26:28 PST, seller added the following information: I have added the photos of the title from Maryland and the initial California registration that I started but never finished as I went to Kuwait/Iraq. On Jan-24-18 at 12:10:32 PST, seller added the following information: Someone asked me about the AC's working condition. After I had the old gas drained out I didn't put enough gas to test AC's working condition. Some people have asked me if I will sell my other cars from my collections of classic car. I am not ready to sell them yet. But I will start selling them as soon as get some of these cars started as they've been sitting in my indoor building for sometime. I will update the AC's condition upon testing it. Yes, someone will be here to help load the Corniche on your truck as long as my guy doesn't get involved in actual loading the car on your assigned truck. Yes, I can have someone take the car to your assigned broker for shipping to Europe once the entire amount is paid in full and as long as my driver can be given the ride back or pay him for his taxi, uber to bring him back to Thousand Oaks/Westlake Village. On Jan-25-18 at 11:58:01 PST, seller added the following information: Another used car dealer came and test drove the car and checked all the parts and made an offer to buy it right now. But I will sell it through eBay only regardless if get even less than his and two other offers that are more than $28K so far. I think those who know Rolls Corniche know how much this car is worth! At the time of starting the car the battery was low and needed to jump it before the road test. Therefore, the car will need a new battery. However, the existing battery would go with the car and may only need recharging because after the completion of road test, I restarted the car and it started right away! So I can't say for sure what is the battery condition. On Jan-26-18 at 08:12:51 PST, seller added the following information: I've run an AutoCheck Report for the first time today and to my surprise I found out that most of the information I had about my car's history was not what I knew. So for the benefit of the buyers, below is the history of the car as of today: I thought to clarify the facts from fiction! So the car was sold to me in 2009 and since then rest of the work has been done to it as described above. The paint shop, the Rolls service shop including Charles Agapou of Beverly Hills, can be contacted for verification of the paint job, general maintenence etc. So far, two car dealers came and thoroughly inspected and drove the car for a road test and found it to be in excellent mechanical, body, and interior condition with all the parts in place with the exception of two latches that locks the convertible top to the windshield. This set of two latches, and a set of brand new reverse light/running lights for newer modification (upgrade) are somewhere in my garage full of thousands of parts for my other classic car collection. If found, will be given with the car, but if not, I can perhaps try and buy the latches from Tony Handler of Los Angeles. If I can't find them, then I'm willing to pay for them. A local body shop is willing to install all the chrome and related parts on the car for $1500. This way, the car will not require any parts installation and it will be ready to use. All other functions of the car works fine. Due to removal of the door panels for wood restoration over 5 years ago during painting of the car, some electrical switches were removed they also need to be put back on. As I stated above, a local body shop looked at all the pieces and is willing to install all the chrome, electrical switches, lights, etc. etc., to make the car ready to drive, will chage $1500. Brand new convertible top needs to be installed as well. Headliner is in excellent condition without any issues. One wooden piece of the convertible top was in bad condition that needed to be replaced. Local upholstery shop is willing to install the top with the wooden piece replaced at $1000. Other than that I can't think of anything else is needed to be done to the car in order to start driving it normally. If I can think of anything which may have forgotten, I will list it here asap.
