Vehicle Detail
1988 Mercedes- Benz 560 SL Roadster This car is being sold by the second owner with only 86,395 miles. Garage kept its whole life. This car is finished in beautiful cream white exterior, with original tan leather interior. There are no cracks in the dash and all instruments work properly. There has been an updated radio installed but an original “becker” cassette tape deck replacement is in the trunk. There is Absolutely NO RUST anywhere on the whole car. The 560 SL has a hand painted pinstripe along the sides of the car and was ordered with European headlights which adds to the value of this pristine automobile. All the leather, wood trim, carpet and chrome bumpers and badges are as new. Even the tail light bezels have no cracks and are not discolored. The paint on the car has no chips, cracks, door nicks, etc. and is immaculate condition. The original tan sail cloth top is old but nice…along with the hard top, hard top rack and genuine sheepskin seat covers (see pictures) The service records on the car go back to the early 1990’s and tell the story of the maintenance of this impeccable collectible classic. This car was bought as a weekend driver by a wealthy gentleman and his wife in Florida and they kept the car in perfect condition….well maintained...and garaged. It was later sold to Southern Star in Greenville, SC and sold to the second owner. The Air Conditioning was converted to R134 with new compressor, expansion valve and dryer and the air to this day is super cold. New tie rod ends and ball joints were recently replaced along with new Michelin radials. The original spare looks as if it has not seen daylight….and it has the original first aid kit. As per the service records, the second owner bought the car in 2012 and drove it only 8K miles since. Again, all the service records are available along with the original pocket manuals and documents.(pictures).The 1986-1989 560 SL's were the most powerful SL's of the decade. The 5.5 liter V-8 produced 227 horse power and would go from 0 to 60 mph by about 4 full seconds. The original price tags of these cars was appx. $48,000. If you use Hagerty Valuation Tools they are valued at $40K for excellent , $19,300 for good, and $11,700 for Fair. Check it out for yourself! This car is offered today at a very reasonable price. We have lowered the car so one may have it shipped world-wide. WE are relisting this "Excellent" beautiful, well maintained, 2 owner car well below Hagerty's value.
