I was told it was common that they produced the 1946 design body through the early months of 1947 and thus titled as 47's. This truck was done as a driver by the previous owner using parts from different 41 to 46 chevy trucks. It has a 6 cyl 4 speed that run...s and drives good. I did not see any smoke or hear any knocks etc. It has a new brake master cylinder. one brake is hooked up on the front wheels, it stops the truck but you will want to finish the other 3 if you are going to use it as a daily driver etc. I would rebuild the carb. The float seems to stick after sitting. as the video shows, i drove the truck in the city 30 miles a hour. The truck handled and steered the way a 46 would steer. i noticed some play in the shifter of the tranny, but i did find all of the gears along with reverse. The truck has been converted to a 12 volt system to make it easier to start. It has new exhaust on it. The original seat springs are there but have just a seat cover on them. The doors are solid and open and shut the way they should. all of the glass should be replaced (easy replacement all flat glass) the floors look good. the frame looks good. This is strictly at this point a driver that you can tinker around with on short drives and trips while you play with it or restore to a another level. the tires look serviceable and hold air. The paint is a average paint job still showing the original dings etc. looks great from 10 feet away type thing. the tailgate was missing and the previous owner put on a studabaker tailgate on that fits. look at the video, check out the pics and see what the truck is. it is not a 30k show truck by any means but a good solid running entry level toy. I encourage you to check it out in person here at my dealership teddys auto sales waukon iowa if you are not familiar with these trucks, or hire ebay to do a independant inspection for you. i am running it off a aux gas tank as it needs a gas tank. i would hook up a aux tank in the box or buy a new one for under the seat. the plates and plate topper does not go with the truck as they are part of my personal collection. we bypassed the ignition key as i do not have one, it is started with a toggle switch. I require a 200 non refundable deposit within 24 hours of auction end, if I do not get the deposit within the time frame or before you come for the truck, I will assume you are a dreamer or a scammer and not serious about buying it.
