Here we have a 1980 Laverda 1200 Mirage TS that has lived the past 27 years hibernating in a Ohio warehouse. This bike was destined for South Africa when it left the factory in 1980 and originally sold by a Laverda dealer named Roma Guzzi in SA. In 1992 it was imported to the US where it was stored until I rescued it early this year. I rebuilt the carburetors, cleaned the fuel tank/petcocks, changed the oil and added a new battery. There are 30K kilometers on the clock which translates to approximately 18K miles. She runs great and as expected. It is said in the Laverda community that the Mirage TS's destined for South Africa came with high comp pistons, 4c cams and big valve cylinder heads. Although, this one has A11 cams I have no way of confirming the pistons and valve sizes. This bike is not perfect as you can see in the pictures she will need some attention. But, it's a good starting point for a restoration if the new owner wishes to restore, or you can ride as is. The tank and all body panels were repainted many years ago with the exception of the left sidecover and fairing. I don't know why they were not painted along with the rest. All the TS fairing and body panels are included along with a new windscreen. I personally prefer the naked look, however, all the parts are there if you want originality (rivet counters). The rear brake master cylinder will need a rebuild, the front brake and hydraulic clutch works just fine. The airbox was modified to include a toggle switch and light that were added to this airbox. The original exhaust is in pretty good condition without any dents or road rash. Clear title included. Please look at photos and ask questions before bidding.
