Vehicle Detail

This Is a 2005 Cadillac Deville that I purchased from Ebay Motors about this time last year. Since then I drove it from Boston to Indiana to Atlanta to Florida to Tennessee to Atlanta to Indiana and back and forth from Indiana to Atlanta about 4 times total. Needless to say, the motor is very road worthy and the transmission very smooth and reliable. However this car is by no means perfect. I bought it with some pre-known issues (lights on in the dash) and considering I never found a real reason to address them, the lights are still on. THIS CAR IS NOT FLAWLESS AND SHOULD BE CONSIDERED A MECHANIC SPECIAL. Please read the entire description below and meticulously view the pictures below. I have bought 4 cars on eBay motors, value the eBay community, and personally don't like surprises when I buy a vehicle unseen, so you are encouraged to ask any and all questions you may have. The vehicle starts and runs first time every time. Below is what I have repaired:-new coils (all 8)-new alternator harness-replaced AC/ heater electrical blower with a salvage one.-new battery-new left front, ball bearing This is what I know to be wrong with the vehicle: -The passenger, front wheel is now bent from bad shocks and there is no donut spare. I recommend you trailer it back. However, a new wheel and a spare SHOULD get you back with no issues. This is sold AS IS, and as soon as I receive payment, it is yours. Again, maybe it should be trailer-ed or dolly'ed. When it's your car, it's your call. -It will need new front shocks as soon as you are able, but I bought it that way. Also, the wire is broke at the left front shock, where the sensor from the suspension goes to the computer. Thus ABS lights are on and the check suspension reads across the dash. (you can cut these lights off with (2) 4.7 ohm resistors. I know because I did it, after a little internet research, at the rear suspension. This is because the rear shocks were aftermarket/non-OEM and had no plugs for the computer to plug into. It was causing a speed limitation of 90 reading across the dash. I plugged them in and immediately it was solved. At the time, the lights in the dash didn't go off but the limitation streaming across the dash did. It took two quick seconds to install. Later, when I replaced a left front ball bearing, I discovered the broken plugs in the front. The resistors were 2$ at Radio-Shack (they are still around) or very cheap on eBay. I would imagine these would bypass any of the roughly 147 electrical sensors in a 2005 Cadillac Deville DTS. -The emergency brake cable is broken and there are no E- brakes. It has never caused me a problem, but that, especially in conjunction with repaired shocks, should take care of the ABS light, traction control light, and the suspension reading. -The check engine light, which was on when I bought it, went out briefly when I replaced all of the coils, but then came on again. I have put 20k miles on it with the light on. -I bought it with a check coolant level reading, but it has not ever, nor does it now, leak a drop of coolant. Maybe a resistor could turn off the light? ...not sure. The engine and transmission are in amazing condition and always have been. It has never once gone hot. -There is an Air Bag light on. The dealer in Boston, who sold me this car, told me it was an easy fix, but I don't remember what he said. -It has developed a power steering fluid leak. From looking at the undercarriage of the car it is probably just a power steering hose. I can't be sure on this so don't quote me here. I have to top it off every two weeks or so. -The AC needs to be recharged or has gone from cold to warmer over 1 year. I never added anything here. -When replacing the alternator and discovering the blown AC heater blower thing, fuses were popping because of the issue. The button for the trunk and gas opener from the inside worked great before I replaced the alternator and need a fuse. The trunk opens with the key and the gas cover I pry open by sticking a key in it. Simply replace the fuses. -The driver door and rear driver side door need lock actuators. Seemingly inexpensive at auto-zone. -The hood ornament was stolen but I have the new one plus the base for it. Looks very easy to put on. These are mostly, all little things, but I have no time for this anymore. My friends tell me to fix it up because it is such a comfy car to travel in, but I'm done with it. I'm getting something newer. For myself, there is no need to put another penny into it if I'm getting something newer and selling no reserve.( also would be interested in trades and maybe not limited to vehicles). Please message with any questions. THE GOOD- The car drives comfortably and definitely has got it where it counts. If you are even a small time hobbyist or mechanic, you should be able to get most of the lights off, change a couple fuses, replace a bent wheel and have a handsome, apparently good cond. car in 1 day. Truth is, I am sick of it. The engine is in great condition with low mileage The transmission is in great condition with low mileage The interior is in pretty good shape for its age and there are tons and tons of good parts here as you can see. The cruise control is perfect and i like it better than the accelerator :) It has great power and handling, especially after the 8- coil replacement job. PLEASE NOTE THAT REPAIRS WILL NOT BE DONE IN THE YARD WHERE IT IS. THE NEW OWNER MAY CHANGE A RIM+TIRE AND FILL THE POWER STEERING, THEN LEAVE. THAT'S ALL. ...no offense...PLEASE NOTE THAT I RECOMMEND YOU DRIVE IT, AS IS, ONTO A TRAILER OR DOLLY. This should be considered a mechanic special but it drives reliably and smoothly. Thanks and enjoy it. Track Page Views With Auctiva's FREE Counter
