Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE This Rover would be a great buy for someone looking for an older more affordable 4X4 that has already had tons of money dumped into it beforehand. The owner before me spent about 7500 on upgrades and repairs on this and when timing chain went he tapped out. I took over. I have the car running smooth now. I am averaging about 14 combined city/HWY miles per gallon. Which says a lot about a car that get 16 hwy MPG. I have a lot of maintenance records but not nearly all of them along with several receipts and owners manual which I will send with the pink slip. The previous owner was my neighbor. He took care of this Rover. Bought it back in 2006’ as the second owner. The statement shown will be included with the other paperwork I have. The Rover is 14 years old so it is not cosmetically new. It is in my opinion very good shape. No body damage. Interior is in good condition. However, the driver seat is more worn than the others. There are no rips in the leather but there is fading in the driver seat. The driver’s side seat panel where the chair controls sit could be replaced and it’s a very minimal expense or you could leave it. The steering wheel’s telescopic motor is broken (common issue with these cars) but the steering is fine otherwise. The passenger side mirror, and window doesn’t work. Not sure why and I don’t want to speculate. Also, the key alarm doesn’t work, I wanted to take it in to the dealer but they wanted to charge me just to diagnose. It’s just not that important to me. Mechanically, the car is in great shape. I can’t even imagine what else could go wrong. The timing chain was a nightmare but now some 5200 bucks later it’s not a problem anymore. I am more confident in the car than I am in my replacement Ford Raptor but I have two Rovers. One must go for sure, the second Rover the wife wants to keep. Also, the side steps are not flush to the car because they are generic Chinese knock offs. I can get a set of originals for about 200$ but I simply not going to put any more time and money into this car if I am going to sale it. The car was originally an impulse project. I wanted to turn it into an off-road monster only to find this model does not have any off-road accessories and the ones it does have are very hard to obtain not to mention ugly which is why I bought the Raptor and retiring my Range rover project. I noticed the other day the smaller driver side light (not the main light) is out. Again, I do not want to speculate. I just don’t have the time or desire to fix it. I will do my best to list all the PROs and CONs as best I can. I have not been much of a seller on ebay but rest assured you are in good hands. I will answer every question I can. These cars are old and most are ready to be replaced. If you happen to be lucky enough to stretch the chain without smashing the valves like me then you are one of the lucky ones. It has been replaced on my car. And you will save yourself so much money and head ache just on this alone. Do yourself a favor if you are really set on one of these cars research the timing chain.
