Vehicle Detail
I am selling my "built-from-scratch" Lotus Super 7 replica. As a retirement project, I started building this car in September 2012 and worked close to 40 hours per week for over a year until it was registered, titled and tagged in Orlando in November 2013. In Florida, the title is listed as "Assembled From Parts" and it is insured through Geico's Collector Auto Insurance. I figure I have as many as 2000 hours invested in this quality build. (I knew from the start that I would never recoup my $75,000 in labor costs!) The Super 7 has been garage kept since the beginning of construction. It runs, sounds, drives and looks great! This car is amazingly fun to drive and attracts a lot of attention. Like the original Lotus Super 7s in the late 1950s, I built the car right-hand-drive. I am 6'5" tall and 210 pounds and I built it to fit me, so it has great leg room. The seats are 15" UltraShield Spec Miata racing seats and the driver’s seat has has a 9" slider, so shorter drivers can drive it. (My wife is 5'6" and it also fits her fine.) Like most motorcycles, it has no top, side windows, A/C, heater, wipers or a radio. With only 2000 miles since the build, the car is powered by a 1993 Mazda 1.6 Miata motor with the matching 5-speed transmission, rear suspension and front spindles. Except for the drivetrain, I used all new parts during construction. A few items used in construction include: • Wilwood Clutch and Brake Master Cylinder assembly • VDO "Vision Black" Gauges • Fiberglass fenders, nose and scuttle from Kinetic Vehicles • Aluminum body panels are .063 3003 H14 (inside and out) • The floorboards are 16 gauge steel • 5 Hankook Ventus V2 Concept 205/50R-15 tires mounted on...• 5 black Konig 15 x 7.5 "Lightspeed" wheels • G-Force Racing Harnesses • KTM front turn signals with Caterham rear turn signal and brake lights • New timing belt, water pump, idler & tensioner, crank gear, cam & crank seals, valve cover gasket and alternator • Front & rear disc brakes with new rotors and EBC "Green Stuff" brake pads • All gas and hydraulic lines are high quality stainless steel • Custom-built headers and exhaust • 29” CobraStuff sidepipe heat shield • Detachable steering wheel • Caterham rear wheel mounting brackets • 8 gallon JAZ "Drag fuel cell,” JAZ fuel filter and Walbro 155 fuel pump • New Honda Civic radiator • FIAAM triple air horns I have run this car on the Robeling Road racetrack in Savannah, GA with the local Porsche Club and also ran the car in two Porsche Club sponsored autocross events. The car is very quick, runs and handles great! Weighing in at 1280 pounds, it's basically a street-legal go cart! Clear title in hand. Please contact me if you have specific questions. Buyer agrees to pick up or arrange for shipping. NOTE: The Super 7's Florida issued VIN number is FLA66374 (as shown in the photo.) The second VIN number listed above (JM1NA3519P0410697) was the Mazda Miata donor car that provided the engine, transmission and other components. I attempted to list the title as "Clear," but eBay forced me to list the title as "rebuilt, rebuildable and reconstructed" in order to place this ad.
