This is a 2002 VW Jetta TDI with an automatic transmission. I'm helping a friend sell this since he doesn't know how to do craigslist. --These TDI's get about 40 MPG. --Engine starts and runs well. --transmission won't switch gears. The mechanical parts are all working right up to the transmission. The shaft going into the transmission rotates, but nothing happens down in the tranny apparently. --another used transmission was bought to replace the one that's in the car. The guy that it came from said it was working when he took it out of his VW to replace it with a manual tranny. But it has some bolt holes that will need tapped and inserts put it, and my friend I'm helping sell this car for has realized he's gotten himself into more than he has the ability to deal with. --230K miles. --Front tires need replaced --Rear tires are practically brand new from what I can tell based on the tread depth
