Vehicle Detail
I am selling my 1987 Mustang LX to make room for something different. This is a very well maintained, solid car with just over 68,000 original miles. New upholstery and carpet were installed in summer 2016. Car was repainted by previous owner (House of Color "Jetset Black"); paint is a 9.7 out of 10. Interior is nearly blemish free. Ash tray door was repaired using kit from LMR and works like new. Stock 15-inch, "10-hole" wheels were soda-blasted to remove factory clear coat, and then highly polished by me. Under hood dress up done by me includes: professionally powder-coated top intake (to include the "5.0 HO" logo plate - see pictures); hand polished EGR spacer and throttle body; installed polished valve covers and chrome engine oil cap, polished aluminum water pump, and polished alternator; cleaned and painted remaining accessories ("smog" pump, power steering pump, and AC compressor) and associated brackets; installed BBK cold air kit with chrome intake tube; installed polished vacuum tree, BAP sensor mount, chrome hood prop rod, and chrome radiator top brackets (from LMR); reinstalled red body molding stripe the car had when new (that was omitted when car was repainted); had an aluminum ignition coil cover fabricated (to replace the chintzy, stock ABS plastic original cover) and it is also highly polished and installed using polished hardware; general clean up under the hood was also accomplished. Car has removable sunroof, and the original (hard to find) vinyl sunroof bag comes with the car also. The dealer-installed rear window slats are metal, not fiberglass or plastic. In addition, I am throwing in a set of 16-inch "Pony Wheels" that were on the car when I bought it; they are in good (but not perfect) condition with excellent tires (tires on stock wheels are also in excellent condition with little tread wear). The ONLY modification (besides the dress up stuff described above) done to this car is the stock exhaust has been replaced with H-pipe and FlowMaster mufflers (car sounds GRRR-ATE!). The only thing that doesn't work on the car is the air conditioning; all components are there and intact, but there is no refrigerant (the AC really needs to be changed over to R-134 refrigerant using one of the available retrofit kits). The original parts I replaced (top intake, intake air tube and air cleaner box, and a few other items) also come with the car (if wanted). Also included are original window sticker (car was first purchased in Michigan, then taken to Florida), original Owner's Manual, and the Ford Warranty Plate that came with the car. Click Here to view a video of the car running and highlighting some of the engine and under hood dress-up items. This description is accurate to the best of my knowledge. Car is being sold as is, where is. I encourage prospective buyers to come inspect the car and will make the car reasonably available for inspection with timely prior arrangement. Car is located in Lancaster, Ohio and has been garage-kept by me and by the previous owner (who brought the car to Ohio from Florida, where it was parked in a carport). US buyer ONLY. I will not take car to a shipper, but will help in loading the car if needed. Clear Ohio title is in my name. Questions? ... just ask. This is a mechanically excellent, good running, mostly original car, with a killer paint job and interior, that turns heads at cruise-ins and car shows.
