Here is a frame-off restoration on a 1970 Honda SL100. Frame, metal components, exhaust system, and other parts were media blasted and then repainted with correct Honda colors. Every piece of chrome and every bolt, nut, and washer was replaced or machine polished. Tank, fenders, side covers and headlight bucket are done in the Honda original "Candy Sapphire Blue Metallic" making it arguably the most desirable of the collectible SL bikes from the early 70's. There are no rattle cans here. All paints are two-stage colors with oil/gas resistant clear coats. The engine runs very strong with no smoke, rattles or noise. It was meticulously detailed in the correct color with points cover and other parts polished. The bike/engine has just turned over 2000 original miles and was stored undisturbed for many years before being sold at an estate auction. Every gasket on this bike is tight - no drips, drops, seeping or weeping of any kind anywhere. The seat is perfect, the carburetor was cleaned and rebuilt, and all cables are new as are many of the rubber components. The bike also has new wheel bearings. seals, and steering bearings. The front forks were completely disassembled. polished and reassembled with new oil, fork seals and boots. The wheel rims were disassembled, cleaned and polished, and of course the bike has brand new tires. All electrical components (horn, gauges, lights, switches, etc) work like new. The electrical wiring/system was removed, inspected, then cleaned, re-wrapped and reinstalled with a new Motobatt glass mat maintenance free sealed battery. The pictures tell the story. This is a concourse correct, near museum-level restoration. It was just awarded First Place, and "People's Choice" award in its category at the 13th annual Pacific Northwest Retro Riders Motor Cycle Show on 9/30/2017.
