The Santana Motor Company built Series Land Rovers under license, parts were shipped over from the Land Rover factory in Solihull and the Land Rovers were built up from this 'kit' at the Santana factory in Spain. In 1962 the company became responsible for promoting the Santana and Land Rover brands in the Central and South American Markets as well as Africa, is just like Defenders. Parts are not hard to find! Many are cross over parts. Main pro for them is the condition. Pretty much all of Spain is a sunshine country and that means no salt used on the roads unlike UK. They are capable vehicles especially the later ones on parabolic. Defender does also have the Santana gear box that Land Rover later adopted for the V8. 85 onwards, Santana's have many Defender shared parts. Push button Doors, dash, switches etc, and of course the body. Considered by many to be actually better quality build than the Land Rover. On top of everything the selling Price is less than half of a defender price!!!! You can see the rust condition on those Defenders imported from Germany, England and Italy, the chassis and body are full of rust because of the snow and salt. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!!!!
