Vehicle Detail
The Austin Healey BN7 MK II (Tri-Carb)Introduced in March of 1961, the Austin Healey 3000 BN7 MK II brought forth many new features to an already excellent MKI. Only 355 two-seater BN7's were produced during their brief run from early-1961 to mid-1962 and only 132 of those were originally exported to the US. Today it’s believed there are less than 100 of these cars in existence making them extremely RARE and highly COLLECTABLE. These two-seater BN7's featured a new, more powerful triple-SU-carb engine mated to a 4-speed transmission with overdrive, and are considered the last of the true roadsters. It had the best appearance and power to weight configuration with their flawless Gerry Coker body design, the two-seater cockpit, and 132 HP 3.0L 6-cylinder engine. The BN7 can be considered the last of the two place Big Healeys, and the most collectible. Offering the pedigree of the early cars in two place format, with the big power of the MK Cars, it is the ultimate Healey in many ways. The later Healey’s were larger and heavier with 2+2 seating, and with bulky convertible tops and roll-up windows – more of a touring cabriolet. As quoted in Bill Emerson’s The Healey Book, ‘…..the BN7 Tri-Carb was introduced for competition, not the showrooms......’ and with it’s triple carb setup, it remains a great competitor. The Car Being Offered...is a gorgeous example of one of the rarest and sought after Austin-Healey’s; the 1961 Austin Healey 3000 BN7 Mark II (Tri-Carb), with electronic Overdrive. This Healey is finished with a stunning two tone Silver and Black exterior and a BRAND NEW Black leather interior with silver pin striping. This is a NUMBERS MATCHING car with the authenticity supported by a Heritage Certificate and registration with Healeydata.com.Note: This may be one of the rarest BN7 Tri-Carbs in existence. Whether you are a serious collector or simply looking for a cool Austin Healey with great history and that will continue to appreciate in value overtime, you will want to consider adding this car to your collection before the value climbs beyond your reach. Best of luck bidding. On Sep-28-17 at 07:37:14 PDT, seller added the following information: Bidders, I went through all of the documentation on this car and it fills up a large box the size of a boot box. I did not find every receipt since the car was new as the ad states, my son helped me write and post this ad and he was under the impression I had all receipts when he saw the documentation. I have Normans journal and detailed account of everything that was done to this car as he restored it including a DVD with photos. This same journal covers every little detail of maintenance and service for the 13 yrs following the restoration. I have all of the receipts from the interior restoration that was done since, as well as receipts for misc items in the past several years. The original Owners Handbook, Normans autographed Tech Book, the original owners parts book, and original service book are included, as well as the receipts for service done since I have owned the vehicle, along with the original Heritage Certificate that authenticates the matching numbers.
