Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my wife's CB 350f. After restoring a 1974 CB 750K which by the way, was the bike that I picked up my girlfriend and now wife of 38 years on our first date, she decided that she wanted a bike of her own. I picked up this 350 from a gentleman in Texas in an E-Bay auction a couple of years ago. The pictures were not very high quality but the bike looked good and the description was very encouraging, the wife wanted it so I bought it. After receiving the bike it was a little rough, a little rust here and there but it had low original mileage it just needed a little TLC. I completely disassembled the bike cleaned her up and reassembled using all of the oem parts that came with the bike. Here is the list of things that were done. Painted all chassis parts gloss black,Disassembled forks, cleaned, polished lower tubes and replaced fork seals. Cleaned and repacked steering head bearings. Repainted headlight ears and lower fork protectors. Rebuilt front caliper and installed new brake pads. Cleaned and inspected front and rear wheel bearings all looked good. Rebuilt the front master cylinder. Removed cylinder head and cylinders, cleaned pistons they had a little carbon buildup, checked the cylinder bores they had very little wear, lapped the valves installed new valve seals, painted the engine and reassembled with new seals and gaskets where applicable. The engine side covers, head cover, oil pan and oil filter housing were polished. New plugs and battery were installed at the time of the rebuild. The original handle bars were bent and the gas tank has a slight crease on the right side from the PO dropping the bike or possible shipping damage ( see photos)New supersport bars were installed (lower stance)Carbs were dissasembled, cleaned, and rebuilt with all new parts and then synced upon installationNew air cleanerSwingarm bushings were cleaned and repacked upon reassemblyRear brakes were cleaned and shoes were deglazed and drum was cleanedNew chain installed, sprockets showed very little wearNew aftermarket shocks were installed. I have the originals and are in good shape but have zero dampening (like a pogo stick)New rear tire the front is the original ContinentalThe bike came with a 4 into 2 exhaust. The head pipes are in good condition but a new set of Mac mufflers were installed and sound amazing. A period correct Tri Star sissy bar is installed and the chrome is in good shape for its ageAll original nuts and bolts were polished and reused where possisableThe clutch and transmission work like newNew seat cover was installed by PO The blinker lens covers are cracked due to overtighting as is the rear taillight. I chose to not replace as they are the oem stanely covers The wheels are stock and show their age. The rims have some flaking of the chrome and the spokes have some corrosion as you can see in the photos. The tachometer lens is cracked at the bottom. The tool tray cover is in bad shape. There is a small oil leak at one of the cylinder head studs. It does not leak all the time and seems to only leak when the bike is on the side stand after shutting it off, if the bike is on the center stand it does not leak. The blinker and taillight covers and tool tray cover in available at 4into1.comAll lights, horn, charging system work as they should. I have put only 250 miles on this bike since the rebuild. Put on some rearsets and a different seat and you would have a fine cafe racer. My wife has never ridden the bike so its time to sell it. It has been stored in my garage with a cover on it. The pictures are of high quality and show the condition of the bike. I was pretty let down when I received the bike from the PO. His description was not accurate and the photos sucked. I have been totally upfront with the description and have photos that show the condition. The bike is being sold AS IS with the new owner accepting all responsibility. I will keep the bike covered and in my garage and will assist whatever shipping company you choose. Thanks for looking, Ron
