Up for sale is this classic and collectable 1974 International COF-4000D cabover, originally ordered with the optional Cummins NTC-335, and air conditioning. The air conditioner evaporator is mounted in the roof of the cab, and there is a fan that blows cold air over the driver. AC lines run over the roof from the back of the cab. It all looks "factory" original and professional, but I've just never seen this before. This truck has been used very little. It has 164,000 original miles. It has been sitting for the last 15 years. I recently started her up, and she runs great. Her owner has passed away, and the next of kin have no use for her. I'm helping this family by auctioning her off, with no reserve. I would say that she's not roadworthy after sitting so long, but with a little work, to replace some leaking air brake hoses, she could go down the road. The tires are old and cracked, but they are holding air, and have about 50% tread on them. This truck has a fairly long frame and a strong mechanically (PTO) driven winch behind the cab. California DMV issued a "Non Op", so no DMV fees are currently due. The last date on the license plate indicates "1990" as the last year registered for road use. This truck is being advertised locally and subject to prior sale. "Historic vehicles" are exempt from this requirement, and this truck qualifies. The truck must be over "25 years old and of historic interest". The primary purpose on the road is generally non commercial. The cost for the historic plate is $25 per the CA Vehicle code. The CA Air Resources Board shows an exemption for DP filters for historic vehicles, as defined by the vehicle code. This vehicle is 45 years old, and this model Cummins is no longer in production. It should qualify.
