This sale is for a 1999 VW EuroVan. I had this listed previously and had someone make an offer that although was much less then I wanted accepted it. Like an idiot I didn't try to make contact before accepting and like clockwork the buyer failed to make any contact with me. Costing me valuable time and money. So here it is again. So unfortunately I have changed the format to an auction at an even lower start price and NO reserve. Take advantage. It is STILL the least expensive complete Eurovan offered for sale anywhere. This is a nice project or use for parts. Check engine light on. ABS light on. There is a toggle switch for the fan blower on the cooling fans. Tires are at 30% or less. The main issue is the transmission pulls but feels like it is starting out in second from a stop. It pulls fine and goes into reverse and brakes stop the van as normal. I have not had it diagnosed by a shop. Could be an inexpensive fix whether an electronic sensor or? I do not know. I talked to a former dealership mechanic while at work in casual conversation. He is/was a transmission specialist at his former place of employment. Without seeing the van and his opinion only is that the symptoms appear as electronic in nature. When not getting the proper electronic signal the transmission is designed to go into a default mode. When in default it is customary to start in second or drive mode and go into reverse if needed to get you to safety. He stated possible issues for this COULD be a corroded pin connection or connector, break in the wire to the trans module or bad transmission computer module, sensor etc. All of this seems to be readily available. Again this is only an opinion and the information is only provided to help make an informed decision. It could still need an entire unit as well. I hope this helps. I do know with VW quality though out still has plenty of life left to give should you decide to fix it. Very classy and doesn't show it's age like other vehicles. It is not the typical soccer mom mini van nor do values reflect that at all. If you know and understand these vehicles and can do the work yourself or have a friend that can you are in luck. You would have a nice vehicle. Be advised. Due to the transmission issue it is not driveable. Doing so may cause further damage and I won't be responsible for your irresponsibility. It will start and run on it's own and drive up on a truck easily. Oil is clean. Power windows and power sunroof works. Van is in good shape for its age. It does have some scrapes and scratches and paint issues. Only outer body rust is pictured under the drivers door and I applied some POR15 to seal it from further damage.
