Vehicle Detail

For Sale is a:1997 Honda Civic Dx5 Speed Manual Transmission1.6L 4 Cylinder Engine216,000 Miles 35 - 40 MPG! Well maintained - Oil changes and maintenance performed on schedule. This car has been in my family for 15+ years and has been personally maintained. I want to hold on to this car, but it has become an extra car for my family and hasn't gotten much use lately, so I'd rather someone else get use out of it! Very Reliable, lots of life left, runs great! Cold A/C! Timing Belt Replaced at 210,000 miles Inexpensive to Insure and Operate! It has lived all of its life in Florida and the past few years in Tennessee, so there is no under body rust! It is a Dx trim, so there are no power seats, locks, windows, mirrors, or power steering. That just means there are many less things to go wrong! (Also, the lack of power steering is only noticeable at very slow speeds like when parking) Parts that have been replaced: All belts were replaced at 210,000 with timing belt Tires are a matching set and have plenty of tread left Alternator Spark plugs & Wires Distributor cap Valve cover gasket Idler pulley (only time the car has ever "broken down," it was this $20 part) The things that need to be done: IACV (Idle Air Control Valve) may need to be changed. I cleaned it and it has been idling stable since then. There is a check engine light that is a P0420 (Catalyst System inefficiency). When reset, the light will come back on in a few weeks. If left on, will eventually turn off by itself after a few weeks and cycle on and off. There is a very small oil leak that has caused the engine block to be dirty. This may have been solved with the valve cover gasket. Oil level was monitored and never leaks enough to need more oil before a change is due. The front bumper is cracked. It is not noticeable from a distance and has no effect on performance, but a new replacement bumper can be obtained for ~$50 The hood, roof, and trunk lid were repainted 2 months ago as the clear coat had faded, so I painted them to prevent any rust from forming. As to be expected with a 20 year old car, there are some small dents and dings as well as some stains on the carpets. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time and for any reason. Payment is required within 3 days of auction end. Please don't bid if you don't plan on paying for the vehicle. Buyer is responsible for picking up the vehicle or arranging shipment. Let me know if you have any questions!
