Vehicle Detail

You will never arrive unnoticed in this car. If you are the bashful type that shrinks from attention this car is not for you. There are more expensive cars but few that get as many smiles, thumbs up and admiring looks. The car has approximately 25K miles on it after being completely rebuilt. This car is a very nice driver NOT a trailer queen. I have driven it thousands of miles without having to travel in a pack of support vehicles. If you buy this car and want to drive it home, you can. Leave your trailer at home. I did not drive it in the rain or when there was salt on the road. It was garage kept always and has been freshened up a few times in the body shop over the years. Body The car is painted PPG Intense Blue Pearl with Hand Painted PPG Viper Silver Rally Stripes. There is no rust anywhere on the body. Some road rash on the lower rear quarters from sticky tires that are wider than stock chucking pebbles into them. All new marker lights and tail lights. New stainless trim. Chrome is in perfect shape on bumpers. Suspension: The car has a Hotchkis suspension with Bilstein shocks front and rear, urethane bushings, large front and rear anti roll bars. The front is dropped 2.0 inches from stock and has custom Hotchkis springs for big block Nova to support the drop. Sometimes folks keep small block springs in the front of cars that have been converted to BBC to achieve the same stance. The result is that the nose dives dramatically during braking making the car unstable. We did this the right way. The rear was dropped 1.5 inches with custom Hotchkiss leaf springs paired with Cal-Tracs traction bars to prevent axle hop and wind up. The car also has subframe connectors. This is a handling suspension not a drag racing suspension. The car cureently wears 17x7 Torque Thrust Rims with Z rated tires up front and 17x8 Torque Thrust Rims with Z rated tires in the rear. This is a power brake and power steering car with front discs. It would benefit from an upgraded aftermarket brake system. It rides very stiff but handles great. Engine: The engine is a big block Chevy Mark IV. It was originally a 454 but after a complete rebuild it now displaces 468 cubic inches. The heads are iron heads that have been ported and polished. It has a Comp Cams Thumper Cam with a mild lift, aluminum Edelbrock Performer Manifold, Edelbrock Thunder AVS 800CFM Carb, ZL1 Cold Air induction kit (factory option for Big Block Camaros) that breathes through a K&N Filter Charger and a cowl induction hood. MSD 6AL Spark Box, MSD Blaster Coil and MSD Pro Billet Distributor. Four Core Truck Radiator with Big Block Nova Radiator Shroud. Doug’s large tube ceramic coated headers with three-inch exhaust and two Flowmaster Super 40 Mufflers. The car has the correct big block engine mounts which is a detail often overlooked in converted cars which leads to multiple clearance issues. We toyed with electric fuel pumps and fans on the car but ultimately switched back to a mechanical fan and high flow mechanical fuel pump which are just simply more reliable. The car has a Pete Jackson gear drive timing setup. The idle in this car is set low and it is probably one of the meanest sounding cars around. Everyone asks how much power the car makes and the honest answer is more than enough to kill you if you aren’t paying attention. I intended to put a super charger on the car but quickly realized that without tubbing the rear and getting more tire under it, adding more power was pointless. The engine is a torque monster. Drivetrain: The car drove through its original TH350 and it was replaced with a TCI Super Streetfighter TH350 good for 650 horsepower. It has a 2600 stall converter in it. Hurst Quarter Stick Shifter. 3.73 Eaton Posi-traction Rear, 10 bolt Rear End Reinforced with Trick Flow Cast Aluminum Diff Cover with Stud Girdle. Interior: Dakota Digital Dash. Mojave Interior heating unit. New carpet with sound deadening hush mat (not that it makes much difference) Custom Hump Hugger center console, new seat belts with three in the rear, the front buckets are from a 68 Chevelle. No rips or tears in anything. The headliner is in good shape. Sony head unit with Aux input box for phones and 4 Rockford Fosgate Speakers.
