HONDA CA 160 TOURING (PROBABLE 1966) DOES NOT RUN; VERY GOOD CONDITION Honda's CA160 production began with serial number CA160-1000001, this one's serial # appears to be CA160 1012859. I may be wrong, but I believe the first "1" in the 7 digit group stood for "1966", as Honda increased the front number of a new line for each year it existed. The 1966-69 CA160 has a 161 CC air cooled four stroke single overhead cam parallel twin with a single carburetor that turned out 16.5 HP for stated top speed of 68 MPH, but I've had one cruising at interstate speeds, 70+, as long as it wasn't into the wind . A 4 speed transmission and completely enclosed chain made it look and stay clean. The CA160 was sold in North America from 1966 to 1969. Along with the enclosed drive chain, it had an integrated headlight/speedometer and thin white walled tires. This bike was the less popular bike of it and its twin, the CA95 Honda Baby Dream. The motorcycle's square, angular sheet metal body made the Honda Touring and Dreams (160/250/305) the most instantly recognizable motorcycle of my generation, the 1960s. It was so different than all the other round tubular designs back then that you either loved it or hated it. Overall, there wouldn't be much of a restoration process for anyone, aside from freeing up the motor, at worse a simple rebuild. I have looked over the net, and people are paying high dollars for Dreams that are ragged and rugged almost beyond recognition. The opening price is common sense for a scoot that won't need many parts to finish it off, and be a quick 3, 4, 5, even $6,000 seller. Good luck. THIS IS PICKUP ONLY!
