This sale is for a 1966 Oldsmobile Delta 88 convertible. It has the 425 Super Rocket v-8 engine and automatic transmission, The body style is very similar in appearance to the Cutlass but was a different animal in many ways.There were only 4,010 of the Delta 88 Convertibles made. There were 9,400 Cutlass convertible made in 1966. These 425 engines were very under appreciated for their time. They had a 10.25 to 1 compression ratio. Straight from the factory with only a single barrel carb they could produce 310HP. And that was under rated. Just putting on a four barrel, headers, and some other minor performance things you can push up to the 400 hp range which is amazing for its time and even today. The transmission in the car has only about 1,800 miles on it since being rebuilt. The body shell on the car is in really nice shape and the paint while older still has a lot of shine. The car needs a new canvass top and you should replace the interior if you want to make it real nice. The car is garaged so the top has always been down for the last 10 years. Its a rag so plan on putting on a new top unless your making it a sunny day car. The floors and trunk have a few spots where it should be plated and patched. The frame is solid. These Oldsmobiles tow very well. So it would be great to pull a vintage trailer or such. Because of the Horse power and torque you don,t even know your towing anything. This is an Antique/Classic vehicle Due to its age its being sold As-Is Where Is. It may show signs of, or wear, tear, fade,haze,age,cracking,swirl,weathering,nicks,dents,rust,chips and may require service ,parts, maintenance of any and all components. The car has been in storage for a number of years until now. While it runs and drives you should plan on going over it. There is a new alternator on it. There is less than 2000 mile on it since replacing wheel cylinders and master cylinder. At the time also replaced all the brake shoes and had the drums turned. The car has been in storage for a while so plan on going over the whole thing. I have known this car for over 30 years and it had always been blast to drive. I drove it to the local drive in for a burger and a coke last fall. Also if your into having a street machine its a very easy car to make it into.I try to price things very reasonable as most things I list have sold via (Buy it Now) within a short time of being listed.
