Vehicle Detail
1969 Sachs 125cc Cross Country. The bike was ridden until 1977 and placed in storage. (Sorry for the non stock colors) I have inspected the top end of the engine and installed it back onto the frame. The engine starts on the 1st or 2nd kick and the bike was test ridden to verify function of engine, clutch, brakes and transmission. The clutch and transmission all work and it shifts normally through all 5 speeds. The piston and the cylinder showed some scoring. The brakes and hubs are all in good condition and spokes show some rust. The front rim was replaced with an Akront rim. Tires hold air but are cracked from age. The foot pegs were modified and the front forks were repaired after being bent. The original fenders and seat are missing. The handle bars were replaced as well as the original clamps. Shocks show no leakage but have rust on springs and some pitting on the piston shafts. The original ignition system had been replaced with a Motoplat electronic ignition. Airbox is original but there is no air filter. The gas tank has some minor dents and scratches and the paint has peeled. There is some rust on the bottom and some chipped chrome near where the right tank badge was mounted. The inside of the tank is rust free. The rear mount has some cracks around the bolt hole. The ignition side cover was modified after a broken chain damaged the case but repaired and a case saver guard was installed. The original exhaust pipe was made into a down pipe and the silencer was at some point removed. The exhaust pipe on the bike is from an enduro model. Included are some misc. spare parts. This can be a project bike or used for parts. I have tried to take closeup pictures of where things were repaired or modified during the time it was ridden. I also tried to show some of the dents on the tank as well as the condition of the chrome. It is rare to find a project bike that actually starts and runs through all the gears. The original title has been lost so the bike is being sold with a Bill of Sale. Clear title can be obtained after purchase if needed.
