Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a 1975 Triumph TR6. I have had this wonderful car for several years and have been constantly improving it. I bought it for the sexy wheels, beautiful Harley Davidson Black Cherry Pearl paint job with gold pin stripes and the very straight, rust free body and frame. The engine was tired and the gearbox noisy and all sorts of other things were amiss…a lot like most of the TR6s for sale here on eBay! I set to work on a rolling restoration, with the goal of making this a trouble free British sports car to be proud of. Don’t laugh…it can be done! Here is a partial list of the improvements: Engine:Proven performer with 15,000 miles driven since minor rebuildSpin on oil filterAluminum radiatorNew water pumpTSI braided stainless steel oil gauge lineNew fuel linesGoodparts black powder coated aluminum radiator shroudFidanza alloy flywheelValve job with cylinder head milled to raise compression to 8.5/ 1New piston ringsGoodparts GP2 performance camshaftRebuilt SU HS6 carbs with positive crankcase ventilation and K&N air cleanersBosch coil, Hot-Spark electronic ignition, vacuum retard replaced with advance unitNew Bosch battery (last month)Timing cover sealAnti-smog devices completely removed (is that legal?)Ansa dual exhaust (I had to drive to New York to get this!)New fan belt and hosesNew high output alternator and gear reduction starter Drivetrain:Rebuilt Laycock de Normanville J-type overdrive transmissionNew clutch master and slave cylindersSix new u-jointsNew half-shaftsNew differential seals and gasket Chassis:Rear tube shock conversionComplete brake overhaulSolid alloy steering rack mountsPoly bushings front and rear205/70-15 steel belted radials on Centerline mag wheels; compact spare from Honda Accord Appearance items:Luggage rackTan Stayfast convertible topTRF dash board with Tiger-eye grainNew visorsAmco style rubber floor matsExcellent vinyl and carpetMoss aircraft style three-point seat beltsNew windshield, gaskets and finish stripTriumphtune aluminum valve cover14 inch Motolita steering wheelRechromed basherless bumpers Convenience upgrades:Everco heater valveBrass throttle shaft bushingsDynomat sound proofing Back-up bonnet releaseNew window washer with intermittent wiper functionTR4 style door pulls, glove box finger pullCigar lighter in place of instrument lighting dimmer rheostatNew horns The wiring harness is flawless and everything electrical works perfectly. This TR6 is quick, runs cool, has a nice clutch, smooth overdrive gearbox, sounds like a V8, awesome brakes, amazing handling, etc. The interior, while not brand new is quite tidy and very presentable. The windows roll up and down easily, and the top fits snugly. The excellent older paint job has a deep shine with just a few nicks and scratches. It won’t be peeling or blistering! You may have seen this TR6 at the VTR nationals at Lake Geneva, Wisconsin or Triumphest in San Diego. If you are a Vintage Triumph Register or Triumph Six Pack member, you know my reputation for owning well sorted cars. This TR6 has never been on a trailer...drive it home no matter where you live! It is my best Triumph, but I have three others, two Austin-Healeys and a Porsche. You can see my dilemma… Mike McPhailHill Country Triumph ClubDripping Springs,Texas
