Vehicle Detail
1965 Olds Cutlass F-85. Only 77,568 original miles!Car is completely original with the exception of paint touch-ups, aftermarket air conditioning, and rebuilt transmission. This car has been in my family since new - I'm the 3rd owner. It's been garaged its entire life in Los Angeles - I shipped it to Alabama 1.5 yrs ago & its been in my garage full time except for the occasional weekend cruise. It's in full working order, everything from brakes to lights to the horn are in good condition, and it has factory power steering. It is, however, the original Olds 330 engine, and it could use a good tune-up if you're planning on making it a daily driver or long-haul cruiser. It starts & runs every time, and hasn't caused me any problems to date.As the pictures show, there are a few small exterior blemishes, and the rear bumper has a 2" gash/dent in it. The paint buffs to a good shine, but does have small chips in places - most of which I've touched up. The trunk pan had a decent amount of rust, so I treated/coated it with POR-15 and used their power mesh in a few soft spots. The frame and floors are rock solid, and all sheet metal panels are original. The interior is in excellent condition for a car of this age. There are no rips/tears in the seats, and the dash is crack-free. It's super clean as is, and has working aftermarket A/C.Overall this car is an excellent original survivor...wish I could keep it, but I'm moving & don't have room for it anymore. Happy bidding! Buyer pays/arranges all shipping - I will help load from this location if needed. I can meet/deliver if you're local (~50 miles). On May-19-17 at 12:49:14 PDT, seller added the following information: 1965 Olds Cutlass F-85. There was no major body/panel work done, it was just a light sand & spray job by my family's long time go to auto shop in Beverly Hills. As the pictures show, the paint is ok & can be brought to a decent shine, but it is old & does have a few areas I've touched up.As mentioned above, almost the entire car is original - it's 52 years old, so please understand that original isn't 'new' condition. I have yet to see a car that is this well kept for this age, but that doesn't mean it's perfect. I assure you, you will be impressed with its condition if you've ever had experience with original cars this age, but please don't interpret that as perfect or show car status. Also, Alabama doesn't issue titles for cars this old, but I have the original California title signed over to me, as well as the appropriate bills of sale & registration to accompany the transaction - all clean/clear.On May-20-17 at 05:19:43 PDT, seller added the following information: ***UPDATE***One more pic uploaded - the passenger side rear trim has some small damage, and the hubcap on that wheel is also damaged. All other trim is straight, & there are no other significant areas to speak of other than what you see/read in the pics/description.On May-20-17 at 08:01:22 PDT, seller added the following information: I've fielded a couple more questions about the engine recently. As mentioned before, it's original, and it's been stored for a long time. While I trust it to get me around on weekend cruising and back & forth to work occasionally, I would not take it on a long-haul or use it as a daily driver. I'm not an engine expert, so I do not know the extent of tune-up/overhaul/rebuild it would need to be in perfect condition, but it's my assumption that any engine this old isn't perfect. I can tell you that I've had no problems with it since I've owned it - it starts every time with a few pumps of the gas pedal, and the engine has not given me any overheating issues in the hot Alabama summer.
