Vehicle Detail
Please read the description completely as it will answer many questions about the bike. Up for sale is my 1934 Coventry Eagle. Avery rare and beautiful bike. I have owned the bike for about 3 years. This is an older restoration and the paint shows some nicks and touchups but retains good brightness and shows very well but is far from perfect. The motor is a Villiers 250cc two stroke with a flywheel magneto. Trans is a 3 speed Albion. Bike is equipped with leg shields and a hand shifter on the right side if the gas tank. I have no paperwork or details on when, where or by whom the original restoration was done. I contacted a Coventry Eagle expert in England and he told me that he knew of only 2 others of this year and model. Here is some of the fairly recent work that was done to the bike. The flywheel magneto was rebuilt with new parts purchased from England and the carburetor was rebuilt in England. These items done by previous owner. When I purchased the bike it had no compression and the cylinder was bored .020 and a new piston, rings and wrist pin installed. However when the bike was started it smoked way more that normal but did run and idle. No investigation was done as to why this was but more work may be needed in this area. The bike was only ridden a short distance and the clutch and shifting worked ok. The wheels were checked for being true and were adjusted slightly. The wheel bearings were at some point changed to a sealed type bearing and these are in good condition. The tires have been replaced with new ones but the rear tire has a flat spot defect and would need changed if the bike were to be ridden rather than displayed. A new battery was installed (a sealed battery of the type that is used in a trail camera). The wiring was checked and appears to be in reasonable condition. The lights and horn work as does the compression release. The control cables appear new. There is "No title" for this bike I purchased the bike on a bill of sale on the motor numbers and am selling it the same way. I did find some frame numbers but were badly damaged and not readable. Maybe damaged during an old restoration when grinding away old paint on something like that. Who knows, only a guess on my part. If this is a problem for you please do not bid. If you wish to get more info on the bike by phone please e-mail me to make arrangements. Included in the sale is a very rare service manual for the bike. All shipping arrangements and costs are the responsibility of the buyer. No warranty or guarantee expressed or implied in given and the bike is being sold in "as is" condition. Please ask questions before bidding. Payment by bank wire transfer only. No scammers please. Thanks
