Vehicle Detail

Oh Boy where do I start? Car started its life on Long Island & has never left New York. Now it's in Queens, NY (borough of NYC) I've had this car for about 10 years, Purchased it from 2nd owner. I've been asked a million times if I wanted to sell it, but I never wanted to. Due to a hectic schedule and 2 small kids I find myself rarely driving it now. I have the original window sticker and paperwork from original purchase date in 1965. Tons of receipts from the 60's & 70's. This car has a power top, 289 V8 (not a wimpy straight 6) 3 speed manual, dual exhaust (sound great), GT striping and GT badges & GT gas cap. Also added the GT fog light kit. No rot on car, strong body. Car has drum brakes all around. NO power steering or air conditioning. Heater & AM radio disconnected. I put a lot of new parts on this car to make it look good, New dash, carpet, steering wheel, gas tank. Seat could use a recovering - I did recover 10 years ago but it could use it again. Convertible top was replaced 1 year ago and it's in perfect shape. I added a set of sweet Cragar SS rim with white letter tires. Winning bidder will leave a $500 Non refundable deposit via Paypal and you will have 10 days to pick up car either yourself or some car carrier company. Please remember this car is over 50 years old, do not expect it to drive like a new car, Especially with no power steering! I'm sure I'll be asked a ton of questions. Please be patient, I will try to answer everyone. GOOD LUCK TO ALL!PS- one of the exterior photos shows the old hubcaps, Those are gone with the wind, Only the Cragars now.On Mar-29-17 at 12:59:44 PDT, seller added the following information: The rails and torque boxes were replaced 20 years ago, They are solid. Motor was also rebuilt about 20 years ago. Car has been driven maybe 1000 miles in last 10 years - I rarely took it out. I never had to replace the rear quarters or front fenders so I'm not sure if they are original. The wire loom i think is original. a couple of things i forgot to mention, In addition to all the things listed I also put headers on car and converted the ignition to electric instead of points. Car starts perfectly every time! with the points you would never know if you'd get stuck somewhere. I put new front and rear bumpers. The car was stripped down to bare metal about 5 years ago and repainted. I have actual photos of this, not digital photos. Buyer will get all photos and repair receipts. It's a nice car but please DO NOT think its a $40,000 perfect car. If i were to keep this car, Personally I'd put in a 4 speed trans, Air-conditioning, power steering & power brakes. All this costs money and if all these items were done already the car would be worth much more than the $17,500 it's currently at. I hope this answers some of your concerns.Steve
