Vehicle Detail
Selling my 1993 CR500 that i haven't ridden in far too long. Wife has a good point, I've not ridden it in years and i have other bikes to ride, that actually get ridden. So its time for the bike to find a new loving home. the front end has been replaced with year 2000 CR500 stuff. The 1994 and earlier brakes have a funky mount, and the brakes suck. Only way to upgrade them to current is to swap the entire front end, which i did. New upper/lower clamps, forks, brake and wheel. the tire is still the OEM tire that came on the 2000 CR500. I replaced the front brake line with a stainless braided brake line. The bike has a Magura hydraulic clutch master cylinder that works amazingly well. One finger clutching, self adjusting, totally amazing. The top end has recently been replaced with OEM parts. The orig cylinder was getting worn out, so i got a new OEM honda piston/rings/wristpin/bearing and cylinder. It has maybe 3 or 4 rides on it. the bike has a 200 watt Moose lighting stator. It also has a Acerbis headlight, but the rubber straps that hold the headlight to the fork tubes have disintegrated in storage. You can have it if you want, but the rubber strap kit is almost as much as a replacement headlamp unit. the rear tire has plenty of tread but i have a spare tire for it that wont fit any of my other bikes, so i'll include that with the purchase. Bike has full Devol protection. Skid plate, rad guards and supports. Acerbis handguards that have seen their fair share of use. Pro-Taper bar, oversized IMS footpegs, aftermarmarket (stronger) chainguide. Oversized tank and the carb is a year 2000 carb. FMF exhaust, Pipe and can. The bike is in great shape and just needs someone to ride it. Fires right up on the third kick, hot or cold. Bike is currently registered (to me) so no need to worry about any crazy DMV fees. I cant find the title when i looked this weekend, but if i get a buyer for it before i find the title we can just do a paperless title transfer. This is a green sticker bike. the grips could stand to be replaced. the front tire is also a bit worn, but still fully rideable. Just the OEM tires never got high praise, and this one is 17 years old. ha ha ha. *******SHIPPING******* I will not assume any responsibility for packaging or shipping of the bike. However i will deliver to any location of your choice within 50 miles of San Jose, Ca 95125 for no additional charge. This could be a motorcycle dealer where you can arrange for packaging/transport, or any shipper facility to arrange freight. If i am to drop off the bike at a freight company i will remove all fluids to comply with their policies. If you are in the US, i have used UShip in the past with fantastic results.
