Vehicle Detail
No reserve! 1966 F100 v8 RWD Manual transmission. I acquired this truck a few years ago in a business deal and it came in as a rolling restoration project. The truck runs and drives, 48,000 on the odometer, I suspect it has rolled over, but do not know. I know very little about this truck or this particular model, if you have questions please ask. This truck has been sitting a lot over the past several years and has been driven very little since I have owned it. I will detail what I can see below:The Good:Engine runs strong. V8 big block, with script logo "powered by ford" valve covers. No idea if the engine is original. Transmission is three speed manual which I believe was converted to the floor. No boot on the shifter so it is open to the bottom. Clutch and transmission shift and engage properly.Body is in very good shape for a fifty year old! Truck was clearly repainted at some point. The paint is still in good shape. It still reflects fairly well. I was told by previous owner that it was originally white but had faded to yellow and then was repainted this same yellow color. Body panels are straight with minimal rust. One spot near the front left headlight (in the pictures) and some rust on the rear panels where the bed meets the top. This is surface rust. The side trim was painted black at some point is is peeling off in various spots. The bed has some previous rot in the corners in towards the cab (pictured) and a piece of rusted metal along the rear of the bed where it meets the tailgate. The tailgate itself looks to have been primed but not completely painted on the inside. The outside is in good shape with one spot of rust in the right bottom corner, pictured. The frame and undercarriage have surface rust, but no apparent rot. The Bad:The interior is a mess. Looks as if it was stripped and painted and then partially reassembled. There is some surface rust on the right passenger footwell. The headliner was stripped and I think it was stuck behind the seat, but I have never pulled it out to look. Seat does not appear original. It is unknown if the switches, lights and electrical stuff works. Tires are shot, badly dry rotted. Some surface rust on the front grill (pictured). No power steering (maybe a good for some folks but this thing as bear to drive).Leaks gas from the gas tank, especially when filling the tank. I have attempted to describe the condition as best I can. Again, I have limited knowledge about whether items are original, etc. This truck is a good rolling project with a solid body and a good powertrain. Even in its current condition, this truck turns heads! Due to the tires, possibly the lights and the fact that it is not currently registered and insured, truck will have to be trailered to your home. Located in Black Mountain, NC. Truck is sold as is, where is. Shipping or transport is the responsibility of the buyer. A $500 nonrefundable deposit is due within 48 hours of auction close.
