Vehicle Detail
Hello everyone, I have owned and restored multiple T160's overt the past 40 years and won some nice trophies I am proud to say. I have owned this one for about 10 years. Its not a show bike ( I ride all my bikes, even the show standard one) but it is not far away either and gets a lot of compliments, it superbly put together. It is without doubt one of the best I have ever ridden. There is good reason for that too, the bike has multiple expensive upgrades that T160 fans will know well. I rebuilt the head about 3000 miles back, that helps and the bike has;-Legend exhaust system, originally sold by L.P. Williams, no longer available, great quality in excellent condition, an oil pressure gauge between the clocks, looks really good and you can monitor the condition of your engine and pump, primary belt drive, mushroom headed tap adjusters, Norman Hyde oil thermostat, Akront rims, high output alternator (excellent upgrade) Boyer electronic ignition, halogen headlamp (very powerful) high power battery (YTX20L-BS), twin disc front end with proper right hand for leg, stainless spokes, 'O' ring chain (another great upgrade). All this added up make a great bike, it sounds superb, not too loud but with that unmistakable triple roar I have given the bike a lot of TLC since owning, and still do, the only thing I am not happy with is the tendency all these bikes (T160's) have to wet sump if you leave them unattended all Chicago winter, so I start my bikes every week including this one, and let them run. There is an after market solution for this, an anti wet sump valve that fits into the oil tank and is easy to fit. Most people don't care about that, but I do.There are no disappointments with this bike, the motor pulls strong, the brakes are superb and she handles superbly. A vintage superbike that easily keeps up with modern traffic. The bike needs nothing and is ready to ride.
