Bike was purchased new by military pilot John Hutton. In 1979 the CBX1000 was the biggest baddest bike you could buy. This bike was John’s elixir for speed he could only find while flying (Note his original gold plane decals on tank and tail). Unfortunately John died in a plane crash in 1981. The bike had the fuel drained out of tank and carbs and sat covered in his wife's garage for the last 35 years. Recently she had decided to have garage torn down. The contractor doing the work was given the bike in exchange for the labor. I acquired the bike from the contractor to hopefully pass it on to a collector, and allow Mr. John Hutton's legend live on through is coveted CBX 1000. Bike has been cleaned up but not restored. Everything is all original down to the original tires. Only part missing is the tool box. Bike does show its wear from being store in a garage for 35 years. Paint is really nice, but has some minor scratches in fenders and tank (Pictured). And one dent in front left of tank (pictured). I had some scratches touched up with Candy Glory Red. Chrome is nice as well, but does show some pitting and surface rust in areas. Engine does turn over with a battery, and all plugs have spark. Tank and carbs are dry and clean. Brakes are soft, Suspension feels good, Original tires show no cracking and still have nubs on edges. This is a low production number (427) low mileage (2309) all original first year CBX. Bike could be easily be brought back to life in the right hands, or displayed the way it sit with an amazing story. $1000 paypal deposit is required within 24Hrs.
