Vehicle Detail
THIS IS A VINTAGE H-MODIFED RACE CAR On Dec-27-16 at 09:54:09 PST, seller added the following information: This race car was made from a German dkw Junior to compete in the H modified race class. The requirement was that it had to be a production sedan and had to be under 800cc. The donor chassis is believed to be a 1959. I bought this car years ago from a person in Texas I believe that the car originally came from California area. I have no race history however it's evident that the car was raced because there are two engines both of them needing rebuild as they were used to race the vehicle. One of the unique things about this car is -mid engine- so being a 2-stroke engine it was timed and ran in oppisite rotation. There is no title 9RACE CAR)sold with BOS . Pickup and shipping is the buyers responsability. I have a bisiness and will help load. On Dec-28-16 at 15:54:36 PST, seller added the following information: Thanks to a fellow racer He believes this is the body that was used. The MGA With An AttitudeMGAguru.comMGAguru.comSpecial Bodies on MGA Cars - VT-106J Ambro/Dio body kit Above, Ambro 001 currently owned by Bill Babcock is a 1961 spinoff (successor) of a certain 1959 Peyote Mk II aluminum bodied car on a TR3 chassis. You can Google that one up yourself for more information (although you might wish you hadn't bothered). A few early copies were built around TR3 and TR4 chassis. A later frame is designed to accomodate TR4 to TR6 chassis and engine components. The body is modular and intended to fit almost anything from 88" to 100" wheelbase and about 50" track width (which coincidentally happens to be just about MGA size). About 50 of these bodies were made before original molds were accidentally destroyed. A few more bodys were made as dips or copies from the original ones. These bodies have been wrapped around just about any chassis with 2 to 8 cylinder engines. Below is a picture of Joe Alexanders newly constructed Ambro TR (with a cut down MGB windscreen frame). So the challenge here is to see if anyone knows of one of these Ambro bodies actually being installed on an MGA chassis.
