1978/79 Honda CR250R Red Rocket! Perfect project bike; it runs strong, rides great...just needs restoration of chassis and cosmetics! 1979 frame/1978 engine - only 2 hrs on freshly sleeved '79 cylinder w/ std 70mm Wiseco piston (i.e. plenty of re-bores remaining). Pipe is in very good condition. fr and rr wheels have been re-laced w/ stainless spokes. A few quarter-sized dents in tank. Rear hub seal retainer is cracked, but I do have a spare hub that is not.The excessive oil leakage around the exhaust manifold was caused someone's previous attempt to re-use the O-ring that fits between the primary gear and main bearing. I replaced the o-ring, which solved the problem. Nevertheless, the touch-up paint the prior owner had used has been permanently stained, and should be media-blasted to remove, in preparation for painting.Besides paint, body and tires, both fr and rr wheel bearings, and the rr brake panel bushing are loose and should be replaced.The existing airbox is cracked, but the clamp-on Unifilter is new (designed exclusively for '78-'80 CR250's). however, I do have a complete airbox and filter cage assembly in good condition, which will be included.OEM extras that are included to complete the restoration (ref photos):1979 frame - great condition, no breaks or missing tabsAirbox, filter cage and clampMisc parts (brake panels, chain guard, chain guides, fr motor mounts, rr brake pedal, etc)1978 and 1979 cylinders (both in good condition, but will need to be either sleeved or re-plated)Rear hubDG muffler No title - a bill-of-sale will be provided.
