Must sell immediately due to impending long distance move.....I have over $3k invested....it absolutely has to go now! Send me your best offer now! This is the last try folks...buy this car! Hi, and thanks for looking at my auction for this rare and cool 1967 Chrysler Newport Custom Coupe. I bought this a project with the full intention of restoring it and found out two weeks later I was going to have to move long distance for my job or lose it, so I am moving....but anyways, what we have here is a pretty solid (for east coast) car that I have almost repaired to the point it was drivable. I have had it running three times, on the third time it started acting funny which is when I found out the valves were sticking so bad it bent a bunch of push rods and the heads will have to come off and get reworked. I have video of it running, and it was running good! The car has a 1967 coded 383 4V engine with a 727 automatic and 8 3/4 rear end. It does not have many options, as far I can tell just power steering, power brakes, AM radio, fender mounted turn signals, and thats about it. It has most of the parts to a Mk IV aftermarket AC system still attached. The compressor has been removed but it is included, I would imagine it is no good. I have installed the following brand new parts: Edelbrock 650 AVS Thunder Series Carb with electric choke, almost identical to the factory 4bbl, just a little bigger. Cost $385Spectre reproduction gas tank and sender Cost $275Spectre 26" all metal radiator Cost $250All new radiator hoses Moser Green Bearing kit for the 8.75 Cost $75 + 40 to get pressed on.Four new P215 75 R14 tires Cost $375All new brakes, wheel cylinders, hoses, and master cylinder Cost $100Fuel line replaced with 3/8 copper, (may want to redo with steel)Remanufactured Alternator and Starter. Cost $100New wiper blades - originals had disintegrated.New spark plugs and wiresCarter fuel pump Thats over $1500 just in new parts!! First bid gets all that already installed plus a rare two door mopar with a big block drivetrain....can't beat that! As far as the car goes, I have not driven it, I was really hoping to but due to the engine issues I did not get to try it out. It does have rust, surface and otherwise, as you can see. Its an old mopar, they all have rust! Like I said earlier it is mostly solid except for the trunk floor, which is pretty bad. I think a patch panel is available from Classic 2 Current, as well as most other floor parts. It does have undercoating. The front footwell area has some holes but none are very big and might be able to be patched with just a piece of flat sheet. Of course, the rear rockers have some holes as well, mostly the passenger side. There are small spots sort of in different places, but all the frame parts and k member are all solid. Doors open and close good. I do not think this car originally had a vinyl top. I was hoping to find the build sheet but so far I have not found it, but i have not pulled the carpet or the front seat. The engine did run (and pretty well!) but the valves are so sticky that it slowly bent the pushrods until they started falling out, then it wouldn't start anymore. I do not have time to pull the heads and get that problem fixed. If I did I would pull the whole engine and re-seal and paint everything. I can also recommend replacing the oil pan. Some moron in history put a jack stand or jack into the oil pan which pushed it in and caused a pinhole. I ground it down with wire wheel and patched it with jb weld. I don't think the car had been run since that happened, looks like it happened years ago. I have not messed with the interior much other than clean it out, the headliner and some trim is down but it was all in the trunk so I have saved it all as well as the headliner bows. I do have some of the original paperwork, the certicard is still in the holder, etc. If you have any questions about this car, just ask! It is located in Radford, VA, zip code 24141, just off I-81. I am within a five hour drive from Charlotte, DC, Charleston, Southern Ohio, Southern PA, Norfolk, Richmond, Knoxville, and more. You will have to provide your own transportation, and I will try to help with that as much as possible. -Car is not drivable- just so we are clear on that. Good Luck! Must Sell, Moving 1000 miles from VA to NH in December and I can't take it with me...:(
