Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my 2003 E39 540i M Sport 6-speed manual, the last year for the E39 chassis. Pretty rare car with relatively low miles (133k miles) and an absolute blast to drive. It's been a great car, however I need the money now to pay some other bills. Currently registered in CA with valid plates until April 2017, passes smog with flying colors, clean and clear title in hand. Pretty much brand new Continental Extreme Contact DW tires all around (only 6k miles on them, look like new) on the OEM BMW forged M parallel aluminum wheels. Has factory BMW all-weather floormats, full-size spare, etc. Magnaflow catback exhaust which sounds amazing with the 4.4L V8. Also has the OEM BMW auxiliary input for the stereo, which I use religiously. Comes with both keys and all the factory manuals, even the infamous glovebox flashlight still works as new. One of the few cars of this era that has correctly functioning auto leveling HID headlights lol. Since this was the last year for the E39, this car also came factory with the rear LED running lights that many people with older E39's upgrade to. Auto dimming mirrors, homelink, all auto up/down windows, full factory BMW alarm (also not a standard option, comes with interior motion sensors, inclinometer, etc)Things that I've recently had done:30% window tint all aroundRepaired driver's side seatback twistReplaced valve cover and coil cover gasketsStripped and Cerakoted valve covers (oem paint was flaking badly)New tires 6k miles ago (Conti DW's)New OEM BMW wiper bladesNew engine air filterBoth new cabin air filtersNew BMW washer fluid reservoir fill pipe (old one had a hole)Oil just changed with full synthetic Mobil 1 5W-40 500 miles agoAll brand new Bosch Iridium spark plugsBrand new Drivers AND Passengers front window regulatorsNew thermostat housing sealThings that in my opinion could use some attention:Has the traction and abs lights that go on and off, assuming a wheel speed sensor needs replaced. Still drives fine, but I could see the lights on the dash being irritating to someone else.Rear windshield power sunshade clips broken, very common, I've seen an updated part released to permanently fix it, however I've never even used it since getting the windows tinted. In my opinion it's a trivial thing.Has a small oil leak up front, either the oil pan or the timing cover, I've never really been able to narrow it down, however I find a few spots on the ground now and then. It doesn't even leak enough to have to check the oil level often, I think I only need to add a splash of oil every month or 2.Top of the decklid has the infamous clear coat peeling issue. I had planned to just replace the decklid, they pop up on ebay frequently for close to $200 and free shipping for clean ones, I just never did it.Not sure what else I can really tell you, it's a great car that's hard to find and a joy to drive. Is it perfect? No. However is it a phenominal amount of car for the money? Absolultely. The pictures really don't do the car justice so please feel free to come take a look in person. If you have ANY questions at all please feel free to ask prior to bidding and I will do my absolute best to answer as quickly and accurately as I can.Located in Ventura, CA 93003.Thanks!Mike
