Vehicle Detail
The Basics:Engine: #'s matching 350 - NO issues, no knocks, ticks, etc. NO leaks - well maintained. Starts right up every time - even after sitting for a week. Body: NO visible rust - ran magnet throughout -solid southern car and garaged in climate control while up north (no winters) . Body lines precise and spacing perfect throughout. Cosmetics: All original interior only very tiny imperfections from age. One repaint (1992) some small chips in paint. All glass and wheels excellent.Mechanics: Lights, gauges, seats, windows, heater, etc. = NO issues. (Need to replace rear exhaust/would have done, but such an individual decision). This is not a 95-100 point "trailer queen" show car. This is an honest original #'s matching low mile true Z28- that you would stop and admire at a local car show. It hasn't been altered or modified - hard to find on a 37 year old Z these days. It also has rare dealer ordered (not cheap aftermarket) sun roof - ZERO leakage. Pricing $ I think Heritage does the best pricing on collector cars based on their constant updates and tracking auctions and "realized" prices. I have put an extremely low price to get things started and will let the ebay community decide the final outcome. Below is Heritage pricing as of 11/3/16Feedback: I have sold 10 cars on ebay (you can view this on my ebay profile) just click and see feedback as seller = 100% + feedback. Contact info: Contact me at 262.377.0537 - My name is Sean and I will be happy to answer any of your questions. The following information is taken from the "Trim Tag" found on the car - this verifies the car to have the original color and most importantly it is a real Z28 - The "8" on the bottom was the code used by the Van Nuys plant to signify it as a Z28. This car includes all the original tags, decals, and stamps - even the rear axle tag which you rarely see. I found the build sheet under the seat (in webbing) but it is pretty rough looking after 37+ years. Just to get the ball rolling I put a very low opening bid. ANY questions please contact me. If you would like specific pictures of anything or would like to come inspect the carin person just call me a little bit ahead - I will be more than happy to show you the car. The '79 is the one to own of this body style -you would have a hard time of finding a nicer original "unmolested" example than this one. Sean 262.377.0537 On Nov-06-16 at 13:15:29 PST, seller added the following information: Spent some time looking over the current ebay offerings of 1979 Z28's with automatic: $9,999 - 114k miles - lots of rust/holes/interior very rough. In need of major restoration. I do like the amount of pics of the car - including rough spots, but past ,multiple feedback gives me some pause. $12,900 - 555,555 miles? - This looks pretty good overall. Maybe a #3 to #4 car. Some things altered a little like a aftermarket dash pad put over the original. Compared to the rest - one of the better priced $15,995 -Altered from original ; engine compartment not original, incorrect wheels, seats don't match interior, lists it at 29,279 miles - technically he just states that what odometer shows. Doesn't show how dash looks under pad. $20,000- 104,400 miles - no feedback as a seller, and ONLY local sales- doesn't want to deal with shipping I guess. Engine compartment completely altered - Only a handful of pics, nothing to verify it as a real "Z28" -no seller feedback. $22,900 - miles (not listed)? Nice looking in and out, engine compartment looks stock. The only thing that makes me pause is the 5 negative feedbacks in the history. $23,995 - 35,689 miles (could be?). Nice looking in and out, and engine compartment looks stock. Seller - says "not perfect", but this looks correct. Also -100% positive feedback. There was one that was listed as a "Z28" that I didn't list because I am 90% sure it is not authentic - or was a real Z28 - that was swapped out with base Camaro and thrid party parts - dash, steering wheel, front upper grill, headlight bezels, and front bucket seats. Also no shots of the engine compartment and showing rust hole. I would definitely get pics of the engine and want to see Trim tag - absent a build sheet or window sticker. Asking$11,900 . You can see the Harerty pricing is actually on the low side in comparison with the ebay asking prices - I guess sellers are allowing a little wiggle room for "Best Offers" where they are offered. No question that selling a 1979 Z28 in cold areas of the country is tricky this time of year - unless this price goes way up someone will be getting a real steal. Remember if you're in the area - give me a call and you can come and see the car in person. If you have ANY questions don't hesitate to call. I'm am adding my cell phone # 210.209.54 - you can call or text me if you prefer.
