Founded in GM’s successful Corvette racing program, and tweaked by Martin Technologies IHRA-proven engineering, the blueprinted mill utilizes a custom rotating assembly, optimized engine calibration and an enhanced ProCharger supercharger to flat out whip pretty much anything with four wheels. A perfect amount of air and fuel is supplied by a factory throttle body that’s seated between a custom air tube and a big, reusable filter element. That air and fuel mixes in a GM intake and progresses to optimized, CNC-ported cylinder heads that are built with PSI springs, titanium retainers and factory valves. Immediately following combustion, spent gases roar through 2.5-inch stainless pipes via traditional, cast iron manifolds. And a high performance intercooler, two electric puller fans and upgraded lubrication ensure the rowdy mill provides rocket-like acceleration. Aesthetically, the car’s super clean bay displays OEM-level attentiveness to both appearance and assembly. And many details, like a serialized production plaque and “MARTIN” branded fuel rail covers, dress up GM’s traditionally conservative aesthetics.Take a look under this Chevy and you’ll find a factory-fresh chassis that’s clean, proven and ready to pound the pavement. Side step the car’s third pedal and a heavy duty clutch engages a slick-shifting Tremec 6060 6-speed. That transmission is hooked to a familiar limited slip rear end which spins sporty 3.45 gears. Built around that driveline is a Nurburgring-tested independent performance suspension that’s capable of pulling almost 1 g through corners. Variable ratio, speed sensitive power steering, big Brembo calipers and giant, vented rotors combine with factory ABS and electronic brake distribution to ensure this is the best handling Camaro to date. GM’s Stabilitrak traction and stability control system works with a 6-speed Camaro SS-exclusive launch control system to keep the power safe and manageable. A sweet, but equally brutal soundtrack is provided by a stainless, Martin-tuned exhaust system.
