Up for auction is a 1961 Chevrolet Corvette. This is a well maintained original type car that rides and drives as well as any early corvette I've ever owned. The paint is driver quality, and is very presentable. The body is in excellent condition, with only minor repair over the rear wheel wells. The original bonding strips are still intact, and the front end is near perfect. The passenger side deck lid fit is slightly off (pictured) and would need to be addressed for a 100 point restoration. This car would be great for someone that wants a driver quality car to leave and enjoy as is, or would be an excellent candidate for restoration. The car is equipped with a fresh 350. I do not have the original motor out of the car, but for an additional cost, I do have a period correct 283, that could be stamped with correct dates. The 283 that I have is disassembled, but I do have all the necessary parts to build it, minus the correct heads (My heads are later model 461's). The car features an extremely rare 1958 Borg Warner 4 speed, that shifts great. The interior on this car is very nice. The seats were re-upholstered in red tuck and roll. Door panels and carpet were replaced at some point. Door panels are very nice, and still have the plastic on the stainless portion. The welting is begining to come off of the carpet, but otherwise, it is in good condition. The wonder bar radio is complete, minus the adjusting knobs, which are available. The dash is in great shape, but as is the case with many of these cars, the dash lights are not currently working. The soft top is in good condition and fits extremely well. The bows are excellent and even retain their black paint. Hub caps are in good condition and tires are like new.
