Up for auction is my friends 1974 Triumph TR-6. The car has the rare factory overdrive transmission option, low 61,833 miles and is a true numbers matching car. This is a running driving car with many dollars just spent on her. I will make every effort to detail everything about the car so all interested will be fully informed prior to bidding. This is you chance to get a great running TR6 with rare factory overdrive at a low price. Selling to the highest bidder this week. Heritage: This is a true numbers matching car and you can order a British Heritage Certificate from England or I can do it for you. The cars commission date was August 1974, commission number is CF 25161 U O, engine number is CF 25545 UE and the body tag number is 25101 CF The paint code is #82 Carmine Red and the interior trim code is #33 New Tan. Mechanicals: The car runs great and drives well. Car starts right up with no smoke or engine noises and holds great oil pressure. At the end of May of this year the car was serviced and the additional work was preformed: New clutch, New pressure plate, New clutch slave cylinder, New front brake calipers, New front brake pads, New front brake hoses and a New starter was installed ( all this was not cheap I can assure you ). Note: I'm taking the car to the shop on Monday to have the rear muffler hanger replaced. Overdrive: Yes this car has the rare and highly sought after factory overdrive transmission. This is a true factory overdrive cars as seen in its vin number. I need to replace the overdrive relay switch which I'm hoping to have done prior to auctions end. Exterior: The car shows well in the photos and presents herself well in person but as you can see she does need a paint job. The body is very straight with no dings or dents. Car sits evenly and squarely on the ground with no visible signs of leaning or sagging. Soft Top: The soft is usable but does have one small tear which should be an easy repair using the extra fabric that comes with the car. Covers: Car comes with a top cover and a full cockpit / Tonneau cover as seen in the photos. Trunk: The trunk is rock solid. Has original jack and spare tire. Underbody: The underbody is in good condition. The frame, floors and inner sills look original and solid. I cant get all the way under the car at this time as I do not have a floor jack so if I've missed anything I'll make the necessary corrections to the auction tomorrow. On Aug-01-16 at 06:56:20 PDT, seller added the following information: All- Underbody photos are now available upon request. After having the car put on a lift I found 2 small repairable spots on the forward section of the drivers side floor board. Again, photos of the underbody are now available.On Aug-04-16 at 05:25:52 PDT, seller added the following information: All- Just a note to let all who have interest in the car that the overdrive is now working. Shop took care of everything and the overdrive is working as it should in both 3rd and 4th gears.
