Vehicle Detail
Greetings, I am looking at buying a new house so one of my cars must go to add a little cushion during the transition. The attached pictures are right after I got it on the road, I will update them soon. This is my 72 MGB GT, this car had been sitting for 20 years when I acquired it in November and I did the following: -New Carpets -Cleaned carbs, installed new jets and choke seals -Cleaned fuel tank and fuel pump-New accelerator cable -New brake master, wheel cylinders, brake hoses, pads, and shoes -New clutch master, slave, and hose -New cooling hoses -New v-belt -Pertronix -New cap, rotor, and wires -New windshield wiper blades. -New V8 a-arm bushings -New urethane shackle bushings and spring pads. -New front door seals -rewrapped door caps -New air filters -New metal window cranks -New Transmission bushings -New u-joints -No major oil from the engine -New tires, lug nuts, trim rings, and painted wheels -New waist seals and window sweepers The car runs and drives great, my wife drives it most of the time. All the lights, wipers, and heater work. The car is a great driver that i bought to be able to take to walmart or park downtown and not worry about. Now for the cons -The paint isn't very good. It was repainted and they didn't do a good job. When I received it the paint was heavily oxidized, I buffed the paint out to make it look like a good 10 footer. The chrome is in ok condition. -There is rust, its in the typical dog legs and rockers. There is no rust underneath it, the floors and the trunk are solid. -The windshield has some wiper scratching. -The transmission leaks some out of the front seal, its not bad enough for me to want to pull the motor to fix it. I have added very little since November. -The carbs will occasionally want to flood after driving it and stopping at a store for 10 -A previous owner painted the headliner an awful looking brown color. The headliner is in good shape it could use to be re-dyed to the correct gray color. On Jul-20-16 at 09:44:11 PDT, seller added the following information: After driving the car yesterday I realized I need to add that the dash cap is wrapped and the drivers seat is starting to come apart at the seam on the back. New pictures will be added tonight.
