If you are a do-it-yourselfer or a shade tree mechanic, we have the perfect deal for you! We just purchased this 2007 Dodge Sprinter 2500 Cargo Van with a Mercedes-Benz Turbo Diesel and all the right options. It can hauls tons of tools and supplies and should get about twice the miles per gallon compared to your current van or pick-up. It does have a bit of an issue we're told, so please read below to see if this is the one for you. As usual, WE'RE SELLING IT WITH NO RESERVE AND THE BID STARTS AT $1.00!!!! FORGET ABOUT ALL OF THOSE RESERVE AUCTIONS AND TRY A TRUE AUCTION. THIS TRUCK WILL BE SOLD TO THE LAST BIDDER........NO MATTER WHAT!!!! Most dealers would list this truck with a hefty reserve, but not Valley Auto Sport.....we've got the best merchandise and no reserves. Now for a few details. This is a one owner, local truck that was owned and used by an electrical contractor. It was serviced here locally and we purchased it from the servicing dealer. They tell us there is an issue with the engine so please read below for more details. However, as you may well know, this is one of the hottest vehicles in the used truck market today....you better pay attention!! With fuel prices as volatile as they are, efficiency is always on everyone's mind. The Sprinters are extremely smooth to drive, have good of power and torque, and still have plenty of room in the cargo area for gear or tools or deliveries. The EPA estimates that this Mercedes Benz V6 Turbo Diesel should get somewhere in the neighborhood of 20-25 mpg depending on how you drive and how much you are hauling. How many gas powered normal cargo vans can make that claim......NONE!! In these days of rising overhead and unstable fuel prices, this truck just makes more sense. Who wouldn't want to DOUBLE or TRIPLE their fuel economy? We think this configuration is hard to beat and you'd be hard pressed to find a more functional truck...we buy every one we can get our hands on. As you can see in the pictures below, this is the 2500 series with a long wheelbase and the high top roof. It is the perfect size for all you plumbers, electricians, carpenters, masons, mechanical contractors, carpet installers, and on and on. It has room for all your "stuff", is easy to maneuver in and out of job sites, and drives great down the road. This one is a blank slate, ready for bins or shelves or racks or whatever you need. With 154 Horsepower, 5,000lb towing capacity, and an 8550 lb. GVW, you can load up the back of the truck and still pull a trailer if necessary. Mercedes Benz has been building these since 1995 overseas where they are extremely popular. In 2001, they made their way to the USA as a Freightliner and then a Dodge Sprinter, and now either Mercedes Benz or Freightliner again. It didn't take long for them to catch on, and now you see them just about everywhere. They are very hot in the used market and difficult to find, especially in decent condition. in 2007, the Sprinter was available in 2 different wheelbase lengths with ours being the 170" version. It also comes with the Hi-Top Roof that provides 76" of headroom to stand up and walk around and has 14' of usable floor for cargo or supplies or tools. The visibility is superb and the on road manners certainly have been influenced by Mercedes-Benz....in fact, many of the interior features feel very similar to a "C" or "E" class Benz! It is a pleasure to drive and comes with all the necessary interior features to keep you happy behind the wheel. It has Power Windows, Power Locks, Power Mirrors, Air Conditioning, Cruise Control, and even Traction Control. Everything you need, nothing you don't. We are selling this as a "Mechanics Special" since you will have to tow it home, so you have the opportunity to make a great buy on a great truck. The exterior is in fair condition and does have a few dents and surface rust scabs here and there. We don't see anything major, but it has been used and shows some wear and tear so be sure to check out all of the pictures below. The interior is pretty nice with no real issues other than a tear in the driver's seat bottom. All of the interior features appear to function normally but it has not been thoroughly tested. The trading dealer tells us that there is an engine problem and that it shouldn't be driven. The truck does start and run but there is a pulley or turbo type noise and a bit of smoke. We don't hear any major rattles or other strange noises and there are no warning lights on in the dash. We don't know exactly what is wrong and it does run and can be moved on the lot. However, IT IS NOT ROAD WORTHY AND MUST BE TRAILERED HOME. PLEASE DON'T SHOW UP THINKING YOU CAN DRIVE IT HOME. Keep in mind though that we are selling it 100% AS-IS like we sell all of our trucks. We've described all we know about it above so the rest is up to you. It could be a simple fix or the engine could be blown. The title is clean and there are no signs of accidents or other issues. The original sticker price for this truck was close to $40,000 when new.
