Vehicle Detail

1970 Ford F-100 300 I-6 and 4-Speed!!torquey and sporty with 3.70 gears!- Original paint, southern Idaho one town truck, very dry climate - Up for NO RESERVE auction is this remarkably original 1970 Ford F-100 pickup. This little pickup has had my heart since we first put our eyes on her. Dry, solid, original, unmolested. Super factory color combo. This little truck has it all. Everything I would be looking for if I was going to build a ground-up restoration. Not only that, but in original paint, it looks great as-is, and is super fun to drive! This was a one-owner pickup, until the owner passed away a couple years ago. On behalf of his Estate, it was sold, and stored for a couple years. Included with the sale is the original owners manual, which is signed by the salesman, and the purchaser. Sold by a small town Ford dealership in southern Idaho, it remained in this same town until just this year. When we found this pickup it had been sitting, and the old fuel had tarnished. Had mix-matched wheels and tires, a dead battery, and no brakes. It obviously needed some TLC, and we lovingly brought her back to life. Here's a short list of items attended to summer of this year, to put this delightful truck back on the road.New Firestone 215/65/15" tires mounted on good used aluminum wheels.New front brakes. Hardware, shoes, wheel cylinders. Drums spun.New rear brake wheel cylinders. Brakes cleaned and inspected.Fresh wheel bearing grease and pack in the front. All rubber gas and vacuum lines replaced.Carter 1v Carburetor re-built to factory spec and tuned.Replaced intake/exhaust manifold. Original manifold was cracked.Fuel tank drained and cleaned with new fuel and Seafoam additive.New fuel filler neck, grommet and cap.Oil change and greasedNew windshield and windshield gasket. New wipers.New fuel pump.New Plugs/Wires/Cap/Rotor/points.Timing SetAnd she runs!I have been driving this truck for a couple weeks now. I'm still occasionally flushing the fuel lines, as remnants of tar find their way out of the tank. Religiously using best quality additive. The engine runs absolutely super. Lot's of throttle response, great torque, fabulous acceleration. No smoke, no bad noise. I intend to go through the carburetor once more now that's in run awhile, I suspect to clean out a bit of that tarnish yet. One complaint is it sounds like the clutch through-out bearing might me wearing. And the flywheel feels like it could use turned. I didn't attach any photos of the gauge bezel, as I'm currently installing a new plastic lens. Couldn't even read the mileage through the old one! I believe the mileage has just tripped 100K. I highly doubt that it's the second roll-over. I specialize in locating 1967-1972 Ford pickups here in dry southern Idaho, and bringing them to a national market where you can find an affordable dry-climate rig. This is a very rust free truck! The surface rust and patina evident in the photos is all there is. No cancer! I'm quite familiar with these trucks, and know exactly what to look for in potential problem areas. Also, I am familiar with shipping these trucks all across the USA, coast to coast. I can assist in locating a reputable carrier for your transport, and thus I encourage long distance bidders. I will personally see that your questions and inquiries result in a satisfying purchase! I'll make every effort to take extra photos, or respond to any and all questions. So don't hesitate to inquire before bidding!! Let's break down the VIN shall we? F100, B = 300-6 , R=Assembled in Kansas City, H31340=January 1970, S/N 31340, 131" Wheelbase TM=Candyapple Red/Wimbledon White two-tone, F101=4500 GVW, 53=Dark Red Vinyl Interior, 4=Styleside Pickup, F=4-speed Warner T-18 manual transmission and 09=Ford 9" Rear with 3.70 gears. Furthermore the GVW is 4,9500lbs, net rated horsepower is 135 (Note: gross 165hp) at 3400rpm. 73 is the DSO of Salt Lake City Utah. Many of the Idaho trucks came from Salt Lake distributor, then where sold at Idaho Ford Dealerships. This was sold by Ryder Ford Sales Inc., Weiser Idaho. Lets look at the GOOD and the BAD!the GOOD Very original! Not chopped up! No speaker holes or other obnoxious interior holes!Original paint has been restored to clean up the oxidation.Body panels in excellent shape, with small exceptions.Ready to drive as-is, or restore!Engine runs smooth, no noises or smoke. No leaksAll glass is perfect with that new windshield! I'm in love with this truck. As a bumpside Ford collector, this one really has tripped the pleasure button. However I must stick to my gameplan. Rescue these oldies, and offer them at a fair price on the international Market. I can't save them all, but I can save a few. And this one is to the benefit of the auction winner! the BAD Tailgate was damaged on the farm It's included, but dinged up. (see photo)Hood suffers dents from a windstorm that blew part of an outbuilding on it!Needs exhaust. Straight-piped currently, about 30" back from the manifold. Right side of the bed has a dent. Looks like it can be pulled out (see photos)Needs clips for the trim along passenger side bed. Trim piece is good, and included. (see photos)Dash pad is crackedSeat isn't super. But it is the original seat!Still cleaning that darned fuel tank...I find that the above items are the strongest bargaining points. You'll probably save thousands based the the items above, compared to a similar pickup in this original condition. I trust they are easy enough to fix and or replace, that they aren't really game changers. They certainly wouldn't be for me. This is the 9th 67-72 Ford that I've sold in '16, and it's most certainly my favorite so far. To look at, and to drive. I have put together BONUS .zip files, containing many many more images!!! believe me, you will enjoy the extra galleries. Many in High-resolution. I have put these together so that interested parties could study and enjoy this truck as thoroughly as possible. PLEASE inquire, and the link(s) to these downloads will be made available! Also, please take time to view the video, which features a full walk-around in 720p, with engine running! Guess what? I have another exact COLORS MATCHING 1970 Ford F-250 Ranger Camper Special listed currently as well. A perfect big brother to this one. TAKE A LOOK AT MY OTHER LISTINGS! I strive to make every effort to present a straight forward and honest sale. There are certainly flaws, I sell un-restored vehicles, and take pleasure in offering them in original state.
