Vehicle Detail
1968 FORD F-100 - with 81,000 original miles -- Manual transmission and strong 360cid V-8- Original paint, excellent natural patina - Up for no reserve auction is this low mileage 1968 F-100 , bare-bones base model! Idaho native it's entire life. Sold with original owners manual listing location sold, date, and original owners name. It was sold by Gooding Ford Inc., of the small southern farm town of Gooding Idaho. It's factory equipped with a 360cid V-8, and T-18 4-speed transmission. The interior on this pickup is incredibly clean, unmolested, and in awesome condition. All indications point toward the odometer reading of 81K being accurate. The engine has good compression, doesn't smoke, fires quickly, and runs beautifully. I found this F-100 after it had been parked for several years. In years previous, it had been used for light duty garbage hauling, after the gentleman's Grandfather (who previously owned it) had passed away. The truck obviously got dinged and dented along it's journey to where we are today. However, it's a fantastic truck to start with as a baseline for something great, and is completely cancer free. I'll highlight some key items forthright! I specialize in locating 1967-1972 Ford pickups here in dry southern Idaho, and bringing them to a national market where you can find an affordable dry-climate rig. This is a very rust free truck, with exception of light surface patina and light surface rust evident through original paint. I'm quite familiar with these trucks, and know exactly what to look for in potential problem areas. Also, I am familiar with shipping these trucks all across the USA, coast to coast. I can assist in locating a reputable carrier for your transport, and thus I encourage long distance bidders. I will personally see that your questions and inquiries result in a satisfying purchase! I'll make every effort to take extra photos, or respond to any and all questions. So don't hesitate to inquire before bidding!! This pickup was assembled in San Jose, California, February of '68. And sold locally in Idaho on March 5 of the same year. The 360 V-8 is the original engine, powering through a T-18 4-speed Manual transmission, and Ford 9" Rear End. I believe the gears are 3.70, But have not confirmed. The factory paint color is 'Rangoon Red', single color with white accents on the steel grille and headlight bezels, and bumpers. This is the absolute base V-8 F-100 model offered for 1968. Lets look at the GOOD and the BAD!the GOOD Very original! Not chopped up! No speaker holes or other obnoxious interior holes!Original paint has been restored to clean up the oxidation.New tires show 90% tread.Strong and reliable engine. Fresh and thorough tune-up 7/12/16Very capable daily driver, or restoration project.Spending time with this beastly little F-100 has sure been a treat! It's a Torquey little truck, no doubt. I rebuilt the Autolite 2100 Carburetor, and did plugs/wires all around, and a fresh oil change. Timed and vacuum tuned, it's really running good! I'm in love with the cherry original interior. The dash doesn't have a single crack! The AM radio WORKS and the speaker is loud enough to be heard. Heater works, all gauges work. Lights. Etc., etc. New wiper inserts installed, and been driving it on high quality fuels. Found some mid-70's era hubcaps for the 15" steel wheels, and mounted some fresh rubbers. It's ready to roll. Take an adventure and drive this one home, or I'll load it on a trailer. Either way it's ready. the BAD Drivers side door replaced incy bit of floor damage. (see photo)Three fuel tanks.Exhaust currently just straight pipe, outlet behind front cross-member.Minor fire scored underbody paint and fuel lines.Rock chip in windshield.Passenger side 'bump' is dented pretty good on the bed. (see photos)At one point there was a minor collision that took the drivers side door out of commission. Unfortunately. A door, which is in poor shape, was mounted in it's place. Someone at that point must have rattle canned the replacement. It's really quite ugly! There's a very small amount of sheet-metal damage on the drivers side floor adjacent to the door. See photos and video. The previous owner allowed an exhaust leak to burn up the plumbing for the two saddle tanks. The under-body coating is also scorched. No serious damage. Cab mounts are good. See photos. I have put together two .zip files, containing in total of 88 images, including High-resolution copies of the images in this listing. I have put these together so that interested parties could study this truck as thoroughly as possible. PLEASE inquire, and the link(s) to these downloads will be made available! Also, please take time to view the video, which features a walk-around and test drive. I strive to make every effort to present a straight forward and honest sale. There are certainly flaws, so the above bad items would be my biggest bargaining points with you. Please see my previous classic Ford pickup sales this year, and my feedback rating. I'm not happy unless you are happy! In addition to this sale, I'm including surprise bonus material / photos for your pleasure as well! Let's do business! -- NOTE --Most shipping quotes on this pickup are similar. From Here in Boise, Idaho to just about anyplace in the lower 48 states, it will ship between $800-$1200, fully insured.
