Vehicle Detail

1970 Ford F-250 Ranger Camper Special 390with factory power steering and front disc brakes!- Original paint, and very unmolested - Up for no reserve auction is this remarkably original 1970 Ford F-250 truck. This is a real deal Ranger Camper Special, with factory equipped 390cid V-8. Most of the original trim and emblems inside and out are intact! The majority of which can be restored! This is a pickup that I found tucked away on an Idaho farm. It had been sitting under the shade of an evergreen tree for 15 years. Let's tell the tale of this fantastic old pickup! When the old Idaho farmer Marlin got a replacement truck back in the late 90's, eventually he simply backed this old girl under a tree, And parked it! Out of sight, out of mind, this Bumpside pickup was essentially abandoned. On May 28th of this year, I recovered this truck, and began a step-by step renewal process, with the end result of offering it here for your bid! Let's quickly highlight what it took to get this classic back on the road!Trailored to my shopTires inspected - They are solid! 80% No weather checking, and hold 40psi. 8.75x16.5Plugs/Wires/Cap/Rotor pulledCyl. Starting at the manifolds, 2-Y-into-1 2.25" passenger side tail exit. This has been my daily driver during the month of past two weeks. I wanted to find the little items that would need TLC, and get them corrected, so that I could present a unmolested vehicle for bid that is turn-key and ready to drive on a trailer. I have been fine-tuning the Autolite 2100 2v carburetor, I suspect to fiddle with it a bit more before shipping. I haven't attempted running off the auxiliary fuel tank, however it is plumbed in, the gauge appears to work via switch. I specialize in locating 1967-1972 Ford pickups here in dry southern Idaho, and bringing them to a national market where you can find an affordable dry-climate rig. This is a very rust free truck, with exception of the items I'll detail momentarily. I'm quite familiar with these trucks, and know exactly what to look for in potential problem areas. Also, I am familiar with shipping these trucks all across the USA, coast to coast. I can assist in locating a reputable carrier for your transport, and thus I encourage long distance bidders. I will personally see that your questions and inquiries result in a satisfying purchase! I'll make every effort to take extra photos, or respond to any and all questions. So don't hesitate to inquire before bidding!! Let's break down the VIN shall we? F250, H = 390 , R=Assembled in San Jose CA, G75541=October 1969, S/N 75541, 131" Wheelbase TM=Candyapple Red/Wimbledon White two-tone, F254=Heavier 6900 GVW, N=Dark Red Vinyl Interior, 4=Styleside Pickup, G=Automatic Transmission and 38=Dana 60 with 3.73 gears. Furthermore the GVW is 6,900lbs, net rated horsepower is 180 (Note: gross 255) and 4000rpm. 73 is the DSO of Salt Lake City Utah. Many of the Idaho trucks came from Salt Lake distributor, then where sold at Idaho Ford Dealerships. Lets look at the GOOD and the BAD!the GOOD Very original! Not chopped up! No speaker holes or other obnoxious interior holes!Original paint has been restored to clean up the oxidation.Body panels in excellent shape, with small exception.Ready to drive as-is, or restore!Engine runs smooth, no noises or smoke. No leaksI can't say enough good things about this truck. It's really a neat old rig. There's so much of it that's original and intact, it's just an awesome starter project for a full on restoration. But it's also road-worthy, and actually quite attractive as is! Lots of nostalgic factor. And a great color combination with the Ranger trim package. Drives straight and true, handles very nicely. Shifts good. Brakes good. A real delight! It's been a rewarding experience getting acquainted with this truck! the BAD Passenger side floorboard has cancer. (see photo)Turn signal actuator is worn. But works!Needs exhaust manifold gaskets, leaks. (typical!)Missing a few pieces of trim. (see photos)Dash pad is crackedSeat isn't super. But it is the original seat under blanket.Heaters not warming up.. ?When this truck sat, the window gasket shrunk, and began to let water droplets into the cab which pooled on the passenger side floorboard.. That floorboard is toast. See photo for reference. The good news is, its very confined to that area, so during restoration a replacement floor-pan can easily be bought or fabricated. Other than that, the body is very cancer free. The radiator core support does have some rust hols on the lower portion. If you view the detail photos, you'll notice little dings in the trim, the chrome peeling off the bumper, and few very minor body dents, and typical wear marks. I would like to spend more time and money fixing some of these items. But it's simply time for me to part with her! Although there is an AC unit under the dash, there's no AC pump currently installed. I have put together three separate .zip files, containing in total over 130 images. Many in High-resolution. I have put these together so that interested parties could study this truck as thoroughly as possible. PLEASE inquire, and the link(s) to these downloads will be made available! Also, please take time to view the video, which features 3 walk-around's and also driving the truck. I strive to make every effort to present a straight forward and honest sale. There are certainly flaws, so the above bad items would be my biggest bargaining points with you. Please see my previous classic Ford pickup sales this year, and my feedback rating. I'm not happy unless you are happy! In addition to this sale, I'm including surprise bonus material / photos for your pleasure as well! Let's do business! -- NOTE --Most shipping quotes on this pickup are similar. From Here in Boise, to just about anyplace in the lower 48 states, it will ship between $800-$1200, fully insured. I will do my best to assist you in finding a reputable carrier.Inquiry! # - (208)-789-1799 let's discuss it! ALSO TAKE A LOOK AT MY OTHER 67-72 FORD TRUCKS CURRENTLY LISTED!
